Greetings:

 

I noticed that doing a search is always global, no mater where you are in the site. A more intuitive setup is when in a specific forum, a search should be restricted to that forum, unless an option is made available to make it global.

 

And speaking of searches, you really need search capability for things like the FAQ. Just telling users to "peruse the FAQ" isn't very helpful since they might not know which section to look.

 

Practical example: I wanted to find out what "brohoof" means. My first stop was the FAQ; no help there. I then tried a general search and got 1000 listings from every forum on the site; again, no help.

 

Hopefully, this is something on your to-do list.

Mortar, while I agree with you on the more intuitive search, it is a normal operating characteristic of the forum software that we use.

 

That along with the other suggestions are not technical issues, so I went ahead and moved this to Feedback. :)

Well, I first thought of putting in Feedback, but according to the guidelines, they say any website issues should go here.  Evidently, there's some ambiguity about what goes where.

Yeah that is to be expected (and it's understandable) since some members are not familiar with the feature set and design of Invision PowerBoard ans the software they created. Anything that would be a normal characteristic (how it was designed to behave) would be treated as a request for an enhancement, so it would be moved to Feedback so the development team can review it as such.
