Does MLP deserve to be cancelled right now/abruptly/etc. for being imperfect?

I have often held MLP in to a high regard like I've never done to a TV show before.

But I always feel threatened by the others' words saying it is imperfect, whereas I expect it to be, in a hyperbolic way, godlike. As my question implies, does MLP deserve to be erased from human memory because we are all angry with it being not flawless, or at least, because it's not like the "superior" shows that I probably have or have not heard of?

Not really.

It is even't my favorite cartoon of the 2010's, I like shows like Korra, Steven Universe, and Gravity Falls more than it.

So MLP FIM is my 4th favorite of this decade.

But besides that I want to see this season be the last and the movie to end the show because I don't want it to become another Simpsons or Spongebob scenario where we are just asking when is it going to finally end already.

Just because a show isn't perfect doesn't mean it should be cancelled.

This.

FIM has always been imperfect. No show is perfect. Imperfection doesn't mean FIM sucks or should be canceled.

Well MLP is a sort of #1 in my book, but is that opinion unallowed?

Are you okay? You seem very agitated by the criticism that this latest season has received.

The answer, of course, is no. If every imperfect show were erased from human existence, we wouldn't have any shows at all, and even in its weakest season (which, to me, is season 5), the show still maintains a generally positive level of quality. There are awful shows which possibly do deserve to stop airing, but no show should be erased from human memory, because every show is someone's form of expression and even the worst shows can tell us something about the medium.

If TV shows were cancelled for having a few bad episodes, Simpsons would've ended after Principal and the Pauper, Spongebob would've ended after I was a Teenage Gary, Hey Arnold would've been cancelled after Arnold Betrays Iggy, and Megas XLR would still be on the air

Every show is imperfect.

Look at Spongebob. I think it's pretty bad now yet it's still going on. Why? cuz it makes alotta money.

Why is mlp still on? It has pretty decent ratings first. And second it makes alotta money

If they started cancelling TV programmes for being imperfect then the entire schedule of every channel would be blank and the only thing you would receive on your television would be static.

Of course MLP is imperfect, but nothing can ever be perfect.  Perfect suggests an objective measure, and enjoyment of a TV programme is a subjective matter.  For example, some people think Steven Universe is the best thing since sliced bread, whereas I personally don't rate it at all.  It doesn't make either me or the other person wrong, not everyone likes the same things.  A change suggested by one person to improve any programme (MLP included), would undoubtedly be viewed by another person as being detrimental.  Some people prefer more action, others more slice-of-life, some prefer plot driven and others character driven.

For all its flaws, MLP is still one of the better cartoons on TV just now, and like everyone else, there is things about it I would change, but I'll quite happily take it as it is.

If we cancelled every show that was imperfect, we'd pretty much have nothing to watch. Except for Gravity Falls (jk) :P.

To address your concerns more directly, it seems like you're upset that the last few episodes have been getting a lot of flack. Okay, so those might be episodes that some of us might want to forget ever happened...but don't forget that the show has also had a lot of good moments (which will obviously vary from person to person). Wouldn't you want to remember those? And if you personally enjoy an episode that others didn't like, it's totally your right to like it. Your opinion might be the unpopular one, but you shouldn't let others' opinions affect your enjoyment of the show.

Also, I honestly think you're expecting a little too much from the show if you expect it to be "godlike". I love the show and the fandom and even I don't think it's even close to godlike.

Blasphemy. The show never deserves to be canceled for being imperfect because nothing is perfect even if it is a masterpiece.

It is literally impossible for a show to be perfect. No matter what you do. Even though while MLP is not perfect. It is definitely one of the best shows out there. Granted that may be a bit bias, but that does not change the fact that it is an amazing show that should definitely treated with respect (unlike what some people are doing  :okiedokieloki: ).

Nope. There isn't a single show I could mention that's flawless. Even shows I like better than MLP, like Avatar and Gravity Falls, have their own issues. Being imperfect wouldn't be a feasible reason for a company either, in fact there's a bigger risk of a successful show being run into the ground and dragging on endlessly by the company behind it because it generates so much revenue.

Does a show needs to end if it becomes bad with time?

Well, I'm a Sonic fan so it answers the question I guess. :D

Personnaly, I would never encourage the shows with Tails and Twilight Sparkle to end abruptly. ^_^
