gaming Underpowed Weapons

Does anybody else love to use under powered weapons in FPS games?  I always have fun using really weak weapons just to make things challenging.  I love using revolvers as a main weapon or awful weapons.  It forces me to work together with others and play to objective to get points. Using weak weapons helps me to feel like an average soldier and not some super man who runs around with an MG mowing down everybody.   I also tend to use it as an excuse for losing a match.

In strategy games as well I really enjoy playing as tiny nations who start off weak.  I absolutely love playing as Canada or Australia in any WWII game and micro manage like crazy to see if I can turn the tide of the war.  I have never made it through a game as Germany or Russia just because they feel too powerful and easy to play as.

I wouldn't say that certain weapons or strategies are "underpowered", I would say more like they're "underrated". I really like using underrated weapons and strategies and love it when I somehow perfectly counter an opponent's "OP" strategy with an underrated strategy or weapon. It's so gratifying.

In terms of FPS games, some weapons really are under powered though.  I'll use an example from a game called "Verdun".  The French LMG has a ROF of 250 RPM, 2 hit kills, a 20 round magazine and can be hipfired but it takes 10+ rounds at point blank range to kill anybody because of how inaccurate it is. The German LMG has a ROF of 500 RPM, 1 hit kills (even on legs/arms), a 100 round magazine but can't be hipfired.  However, both weapons come with sidearms and just about everybody in the community agreed that the French LMG's hipfire was less effective then using a sidearm.  There was no point of using the French LMG over the German one unless there was no spot available for the German side.
