as you see, you can't see the "add a comment option", the only place you can type is...

after I typed the words, click post, then awkward  it's not add a comment , it's add a status update, i gotta lock and delete that stuff after did that...

although it's not happen every time, but can you please add a pop-up window that asks you

"post the status update"(confirm?)  before you actually post it?

I actually agree with you on that. Having a status update window in the prominent position when viewing others' updates is generally not the most intuitive placement.

Also agreed. The first time I tried to reply to another's status, I accidentally made a new status update too.

I think it'd also be helpful to at least change the text to "What's on your mind? Post a new status update.".

Personally I've never had problems with it, but I can imagine it being confusing for some ponies, due to the reply box being hidden behind the button below comments, while there's the add a new status box shining at the top, that is absolutely unnecessary there.  :derp:

Yeah, I agree. That's a really weird UI arrangement. I'm not entirely sure what we can do about that right this moment, but I'll take a look at it.

I'm all for the idea so long as the box doesn't appear every time we use a "What's on your mind" Box (Like the one in our own Profile pages.) . I don't know anything about website coding but I fear adding a status update confirmation box would make the confirmation box appear everytime you post a status update in that sort of box,  turning a minor inconvenience that affects only a few new members once, into a minor inconvenience that may affect even more members multiple times a year.

Right. A confirmation box may not br needed. I think a quick fix would be to remove that field from that page entirely since it really is counter intuitive.

I second this, removing it entirely sounds like the solution.
