Should Thorax have moved into Twilight's castle?

I think kts kind of unfair that Twilight gets to have her pupil and friend in the castle, but Spike can't invite Thorax to stay with him thee, too. If the Changeling's life literally needs to be sustained by love, then his friendshp and proximity to Spike should've been taken into consideration, rather than just kerp Thorax in the Crystal empire, with no real friends?

I definitely see your point, however, I think him staying in the Empire is a better idea, because he can a lot of friends there (he's gotta start somewhere) and he can show the entire Crystal Empire that the changelings might not be as bad as they seem, at least some of them. I like to think that for both thematic reasons and logical ones, Thorax is in the right environment. Both the Crystal Empire and Cadance are the shows symbols of love. Thorax had a stated goal of wanting to be able to sustain himself through mutual love without feeding off of it, and eventually being the catalyst for change among his own kind. Cadance and Co get to learn how to move beyond a past trauma that influenced a racist mindset.

 

Because of that, Thorax is in the exact correct place to be.

but Pinyville seemed the better choice, as it has all 3 races of pony, has incorprated a Zebra, a dragon, an alicorn...they just seem more diverse and accepting than the rest of Equestria.

It was stated in the episode that Crystal Empire had the most love available, especially with the birth of Flurry Hearts. Thorax outright said he was drawn to the Crystal Empire.

 

Anyway, Thorax probably wasn't interested in living with Spike. You act like it was brought up and shot down, but it simply wasn't. It seems like once he was accepted by the others in the Crystal Empire, he would want to continue living there. Though I'm not sure how long he'd even stay there since he also stated that he would want to take all he learned back with him to the Changeling Kingdom. For all we know, him going back with information on the Crystal Empire, specifically Flurry Hearts, may play into what happens in the finale.

Makes more sense Thorax would stay in the Crystal Empire as opposed to staying with Spike. I am really curious where the Changeling kingdom is.

There's an old saying, "Keep your friends close & your enemies closer." Though Thorax is considered a friend, better for safety's sake to keep him close rather than wandering loose in the country, so they can keep an eye on him.

When you consider it like that, it is justified that by accepting him after Twilight and Spike did, Cadance and Shining Armor have ensured that if Thorax is an unwilling spy for Chrysalis and doesn't know it, at least now they can keep an eye on him in case Chrysalis does return, so they will be ready for her when it happens.

We can have friends living far away from us, Spike and Thorax can be friends even if one lives in Ponyville and the other in the Crystal Empire.

 

The point of the episode was not to say : "In Ponyville we accept all differences" but "In the Crystal Empire they learnt that Changelings are also living creatures and can have emotions", if Thorax was just gonna go with Spike and Twillight back to Ponyville, what was the point to the song and trying to persuade Cadance and Shining Armor that Thorax was not evil ? ^^"

 

No Thorax is in the kingdom litteraly fuelled by raw love where he can sustain himself without doing anything wrong to anypony.

He is in the kingdom where everpony was affraid of Changelings and nobody would gave him a chance.

Technically not though. Since we learned that the Changelings can sustain themselves through each other and through actual friendship, that is something he can inform the Crystal Ponies of. Sure, he may have a difficult time convincing his brethren, but there is always a possibility.

I really hope Thorax can do that before things take a turn for the worse if Chrysalis decides to attack the Empire in the season finale in her quest for revenge on Cadance and Shining Armor for the events of A Canterlot Wedding.

Yeah Thorax might be better off in a town under the wing of the mane six. The royal family in the Crystal Empire and Canterlot shouldn't have to deal with babysitting him. Thorax should be close by Spike his confidante, I've been wondering why Thorax would be left in the Crystal Empire. I mean Twilight being the Princess of Friendship would be able to cement a better excuse to have him around.

Sorry for being the wet blanket here, but my guess is that he's in the Crystal Empire because they want to keep him as a background pony they can bring up by going to the Crystal Empire. If he moved to Ponyville, they'd have to show how the others adapt to him, etc.

 

Back in non-soggy-sackcloth mode, since he was drawn to the Crystal Empire in the first place and has now been accepted there, by all the royals no less, he'd probably want to stay there. I do hope he visits Ponyville someday though.
