Fluttershy is vastly improved this season.

I am saying this as someone who's had Fluttershy as their least favorite for years now, but Iv actually really enjoyed her in Season 6, like Flutter Brutter is probably a top 20 episode for me, and her parts in Dungeons and Discords were freaking hilarious.

 

It FINALLY feels like all those lessons are sticking and she's truly developed and become a more assertive and bold pony without well losing her Fluttershyness  too. I actually for once want MORE of her.

I have felt like she has been developing pretty well sense season 4 to be honest.

As someone who has had Fluttershy as my favorite sense day one, I really enjoyed Flutter Brutter and her parts in Dungeons and Discord were great.

I am really disappointed that she has been royally screwed over in screentime two seasons in a row.

I've noticed that too.  She is way more confident than she used to be.  The way that she's able to stand up to Discord in Dungeons and Discord is proof of that.

I absolutely hated Flutter Brutter, but I still see what you mean. She is so much more assertive now than she ever was, especially when it comes to Discord. She is basically taking no crap from him now. XD I really want to see more of just him and her so we can see more of that.

She is nice, just autors was carefull with her to long time. She has less screen time than other of mane six and it's bad for opening her as character.

Couldn't agree more with you. Fluttershy has been my least favorite character of the mane 6 during the 1st 5 seasons, but as of right now she has moved up the list  . Her outings in Flutter Brutter and Dungeons & Discord's especially have her at her best. I love the sassy and smug Flutters so much! Of all the characters, she was the most in need of extra character depth. I can't wait to see what antics Fluttershy will get into next  !

In all fairness, I haven't seen the most recent episode yet. That said, it seems like Fluttershy's character has remained relatively the same, over the course of this season and the last. Maybe that's just me.

I would say she's been more assertive sense season 5 to be honest. From being peeved to sassafras Flutters has been awesome lately.

 

My only complaint is that we haven't seen much of her this season. Season 6 has been full of Rarity it seems.

Fluttershy actually got the most time within the Mane Six in Dungeons & Discords. More than that, she and Pinkie Pie will (finally!) have their own episode next week -- Buckball Season.

Flutters had enough development before, but for some reason, the writers hardly showed them afterwards until this season. Think what you think about S6, but showing some actual Flutters development is one of it's strong points

I love season 6 actually. I'm like RD with Daring Do. I'm one of those fans that thinks the show gets better as it goes on, in general though there are a few episodes that I'm not crazy about. (Just my opinion, feel free to disagree as I know many will) but I especially feel Fluttershy has FINALLY shown some real development. Not just baby steps. I think she would be a hard character to write for since she still has to maintain that shy sweet persona or else she wouldn't be her but to make her more assertive while keeping that in her character really is a difficult balance. This season is pulling it off wonderfully.

That's not true. I can't count any moments where Pinkie Pie was terribly unlikable since season 5 started. And whenever she did, she actually suffered consequences.

I think this season has improved characterization across the board, if only by actually scratching the surface of what makes these characters remotely interesting, but Fluttershy is particularly impressive in that she does so while actually demonstrating all of her character growth. Given that she's the only character whose main problem was never actually growing, I mean... she was my least favourite in seasons 4 and 5, so having her actually demonstrate the lesson she had to learn over and over again? It's pretty damn exciting, and she's been on fire this season. Definitely a high point of S6.

If by improved you mean relegated to nearly a backround character for pretty much every episode except the last one and Flutter Brutter then sure.

 

I mean she has not been given anything new to do, it is nice that her relationship with her family was explored and she is constant with beeing more assertive but she gets lines or charcater anything interactions as rarely as possible it seems.

In Buckball Season, Fluttershy shows increased confidence and ability to express her thoughts and emotions. When Pinkie Pie couldn't tell how they feel about playing buckball for Ponyville, Fluttershy stepped up her game and got her point across and she certainly did! She's definitely not sitting back anymore and I love that how Fluttershy can be still the sweet, kind, caring Pegasi but also hold her ground in what she wants and do with her confidence. Season 6 is essential for her development and I'm glad for Fluttershy for establishing her character.

Fluttershy is a very complex character which is why I connect with her so well. Getting over fears doesn't just happen after taking one baby step, it takes multiple, each time growing more confident. Fluttershy has defiantly improved and it really shows in this season.

Kind of a shame that just as Fluttershy starts getting genuinely interesting, the show starts becoming less and less interested in the mane 6.

 

I know some people are starting to think that might be for the best, but I think a lot of people still have a strong emotional attatchment to at least one of them and would like to see more effort put into making them meaningful again and give them better things to do.

 

I'm still actually really miffed that Rainbow Dash finally accomplishing her goal was given such a half-assed treatment. That should've been a triumphant celebration for her and displayed all her best qualities, and instead they humiliated her let her lesser qualities run wild again. They cannot just stop trying with her now. It can't end like this for her. I really hope they have something great planned for her before this season ends.

 

If they can figure out how to make Fluttershy win some detractors, they can do it for Dash. They just have to start by actually giving a damn about her.
