That's pretty cool but I'm a bit confused about the whole "hosting a convention at a hotel" thing. Of course it's not going to be the size of Bryonycon, but how are things going to fit? Will it be more like a meetup with guest(s?) than a convention?

A lot of conventions happen in hotels.  BABSCon has taken place all three years, and will take place next year, at the Hyatt Hotel.  They've got convention halls large enough to accommodate a fan convention, don't worry :D

Like @@11th Doctor Whooves said, most conventions are hosted in hotels. Las Vegas actually has the benefit of being home to some of the largest hotels in the world - in total there's more than 150,000 hotel rooms and 11 million square feet of meeting space in las vegas, with the vast majority of that meeting space being in hotels. The Golden Nugget itself has over 2400 rooms and 30,000 square feet of meeting space, so there will be plenty of room for everybody at the con. :D

The Golden Nugget has several large convention halls for panels, along with several rooms to be used for the vendor's hall, artist alley, staff room, and whatever else we can think of.  It'll be the same as any other convention you've been to :)

That’s right - on the same weekend the My Little Pony: The Movie launches in theatres, Poniverse will be hosting the first annual PonyExpo in Las Vegas, Nevada

Is that supposed to be good, or bad?

Basically, does this mean we'll miss the movie?

I doubt it  ;) There are theaters in the area so I can't imagine PonyExpo causing anyone to miss the movie.

I'm driving from Denver.

My mates and I do all sorts of road trips yearly. The longest one was to Everfree Northwest and that was 17 hours.

I'd SOOOOOO attend, but i'm too far away from Las Vegas, and I have a bad feeling about those who don't have enough money and are planning on going anyways.  :pinkie:  :pinkie:  :pinkie:  :pinkie:  I'D SO GOOOO!! :pinkie:  :pinkie:

Budgeting is magic! With almost a whole year left to plan, I hope everyone intending to come will do some research and create a workable budget. Remember, if you're planning a trip to PonyExpo and have questions about the con, you can always email info@ponyexpo.com  :D

There is a $5,000 package for people who are Filthy Rich or just like to make unconventional life choices ;) It comes with a LOT of perks. For the rest of us, there are much more affordable options. A standard 3-day badge is $60 :)

Hi,

There has been some miscommunication of Poniverse's relationship with PonyExpo. To sum it up: this is not a Poniverse convention and is a separate entity from Poniverse.

You can read more about that here.

Good luck to PonyExpo in their endeavor.
