How come these outfits weren't used in Rainbow Rocks?

Before Rainbow Rocks came out, multiple promos showcased the group wearing some spiffy band outfits:

Oddly coloured wings not withstanding, I still say that these outfits are far superior to the ones we got in the actual movie, yet only Trixie's outfit made it into the actual movie. Hell, the intro sequence shows the character silhouettes with the eye markings, so how come they didn't use these costumes?

At first I thought it was just to showcase the toys and would have been too hard to animate... but then I remembered this:

Granted, these costumes appear in the video for under a minute, but it still proves that it would have been doable at the very least. So why the sudden costume change?

You know what WAS used in RR?....Siren hips!!

Enough said!

But in all honesty, the budget was not there for additional puppets. Dhx had no idea we as a fan base would blow that movie out of the water in comparison to our lucwarmness towards the first film....bring back Aria!!!!

I'm not sure why the outfits the Rainbooms wore in Shake Your Tail and Perfect Day for Fun were not used in the movie proper. If it was mostly for Hasbro to sell more My Little Pony Equestria Girls merchandise, there's no arguing with that logic, but if they had used them in the movie for the final battle with the Dazzlings, who knows how it would work out in regards to after the Rainbooms won. How would the other students react upon seeing them? Compliment them? Or like in Flash Sentry's case, declare them the best band ever?

Kind of a shame they did not use them in the movie proper, but I guess there's more to being a band than just having all the glitz and glamour of the costumes when performing.

Because there is always stuff in promos that doesn't make it into the finished work. Promos are there to excite people and generate hype, they are not promises of exactly what will be included in the product when it is done. I thought the movie outfits we got were pretty darn awesome.
