Why would Scorpan sell out his own bro-bro?

I know the reason for this: he befriended the ponies and then once Tie-rek wanted to take over Equestria, Scorpan sold out his own brother! Yes, he did the right thing, but how does Scorpan feel about this? Scorpan probably regrets it afterwards! He's probably at his homeland right now in sorrow, dying a little on the inside! I mean I'd be surprised if he was thrilled for what he did!

Scorpan IS a good guy, but he sold out his bro-bro, his own flesh and blood, and he would NOT feel good about this if we saw him again in the series! What do you think about that?

Basically the question would be, how do you think Scorpan would feel about what happened to Tie-rek?

I think what he would not feel good about is his brother being such an evil guy, but the overall act of selling him out, I personally think he would feel good about that. Unless he brought some sort of shame ot his kind or something. On a personal level I think he should be at least a bit proud to do have done so.

Naw I don't think he would feel bad about that/ Sure it was his own bro but he was a horrible...um...thing.

He would probably think he did the right thing, but not feel regretful just sad that his brother turned out the way her did.

My question is why did Scropan go back to his home land. Hmmmm maybe he did feel  bad at first but just because he lost his brother, but I doubt if he still feels bad about it. Unless he's still the only one of his kind

Tirek was a threat to the ones who offered him friendship and allowed him to change his ways. Maybe he thought his brother might learn to see the same as him. Or he just didn't want to let the evil of Tirek taint the rest of the world.

This is Scorpan selling out his own sibling to ponies he doesn't even know well. I know Scorpan would feel good that he saved many lives, but wouldn't he have constant nightmares and regretful feelings about it? Like he keeps saying to himself he did good, but deep down, he could feel like he did the wrong thing because his brother trusted him and Scorpan betrayed that trust?

I'm sure he regrets it on some level. He is, after all his brother. But on the other hand, he saved countless ponies, ponies he had come to befriend. So I'm sure it was a difficult decision. I almost wonder if his returning to his homeland perhaps had something to do with him feeling guilty. The details of the story as presented on the show weren't very in depth, so we'll never really know if he regrets the decision or not, unless they revisit it for some reason.

It would be really cool to see Tie-Rek and Scorpan again! I mean, so much story opportunities can await with these characters!

i have only seen the mlp fim eps, but at the psychological level, If he feels bad for what he did but thinks it is what needed to be done, then ya hes a good guy in his homeland being tormented by the past.

But if he did what he did, and feels no sadness for what he has done, then it could be said that he views himself a "saint" vs his brother the "beast", the illusioin of "good" by interpretation. but open for debate....

it could even be said that the ponies "brainwashed" him, so it would appear to him as very bad. making him prone to saving his brother. only further eps will tell...

i could go on with this, its all down to interpritation of a fictional characters motives and mental state, probably more thought i could add here than the whole concept of the charater to begin with...*sigh*  LOL

Scorpan definitely put the greater good before his own family, and it takes a strong soul to do that. The ponies were innocent creatures to him, who did nothing to offend them as far as we know. He felt dirty stealing from them, so he did what he felt was right by ratting Tirek out.

I would turn my brother in if he was a danger to society. It would not be an enjoyable or regret free experience, but I have a fairly firm moral compass when it comes to these things.

I think he would've more nightmares if he let his bro making Equestria going bonkers :dash:. Well, I think it's pretty obvious he never had a conscience, and he hated Tirek's plans that involved hurting innocents
