This I'm really hoping for! Turns out Dragon Spike still crushes on pony Rarity, and he kinda crushed on EG Rarity, but I'm actually really hoping Dog Spike would be different. Luckily there are no hints of dog Spike crushing on Rarity, which is good, at least in my opinion! It would show more of how different this Spike is from the other Spike.

 

Now, spoiler to the new EG: it would seem that Sci-Twi doesn't crush on Flash Sentry like pony Twilight does. So this gives some thought! Maybe dog Spike doesn't crush on Rarity either! Good, I'm hoping it stays that way.

 

What would be really cool if dog Spike actually crushed on Fluttershy! Yunno how she is around animals, and maybe that'll make him like her! Cathy Weseluck said she preferred Spike having a crush on Fluttershy instead of Rarity, so maybe her dream can come true on EG!

 

Don't worry, Sparity fans! Spike still likes Rarity in Equestria! It's just the EG universe might be different, which I'm hoping for. What do you think?

A dog is an ANIMAL, that cannot consent to any romance with a human, and is not human, and therefore, is unethical (for many other reasons as well.). Dogs cannot have romantic feelings twords humans because they lack the capacity.

 

Whereas Spike is a fully functional, sentient being as capable of reason, feelings, function as any pony, and thus stands socially the same as ponies. Spike is no mentally different than any other pony.

Let's be perfectly honest with ourselves.  Has the whole Spike has a crush on Rarity ever amounted to much lately.  We all know that the two will never get together, and I haven't seen it been used as anything other than a joke in seasons 5 and 6 if it was even seen at all.

I don't think EQG is missing anything much without the whole Sparity thing in it.

Dogs love everyone, especially the ones nice to them. "crush" isn't really a good term for it.

Yeah, it REALLY screwed his character over in EQG.
