general Best Things You've Bought For Under $5

Sometimes the best things we buy aren't expensive ones. What are some purchases you're proud of that cost under $5 bucks?

For me, it was about 3 years ago when I stumbled onto a garage sale. And they had soem cassets available, among them Two David Lee Roth albums , Widowmaker (Dee Snider's band after Twisted Sister), Tempest, Night Ranger, Grim Reaper, and three various artist albums, one of them being Rising Metal, an 80's thrash metal comp. My favorite of the bunch. 25 cents each.

Oh and I bought two G3 MLP tapes. Also 25 cents each.  And I enjoyed watching them both.

Total: $2.75

Well, I have to admit, I once got a set of HDMI cables for under $5 and they work quite well. Fun fact for those who are not tech savvy: HDMI cables are one of the biggest scams around. Many will claim they are gold plated or this that or the other thing to get better signal, it's all a lie. HDMI's picture quality is not determined by the cable.

OHHHHHH  B)

There are several things I've purchased for $5 or under that I find valuable, but one stands out. I once bought this beautiful little porcelain arctic fox at a garage sale. I believe it was $3.50. I remember grinning from ear to ear as a little one when making the purchase (as I had just started earning allowance and felt good about buying something with my own money). I became super attached to it. :P I still love it today, not just because of the aesthetics, but because of the happy memories attached to it.

I've found some awesome records for pretty cheap before. I got Eric Capton Slowhand for, I got Bob Seger Night Moves, The Who Tommy, and Elton John Tumbleweed Connection all in the bargain bin at my local record store. I don't think I payed more that $3 for any of them.

I bought a pair of Star Wars insulated soda can holders for $4.99 each. They're not what you would consider mind-blowing but I use them all day every day. I always have a cold soda on hand and these are very useful. :proud:

The first thing that came in my mind is a version 4 Tamagotchi in fairly good condition that I got for two euros. Thrift stores are quite awesome!

Thanks to some coupons and things, I was able to get a ticket to see Rainbow Rocks in theaters for free.

And with how much I loved that experience, I would say that it was a great decision.

I still would have loved the experience, even if I had to pay full price for the ticket, I still would have enjoyed it.

I found this little Alice in Wonderland(the disney animated movie version) clutch at the thrift store a few years back, it was only $1.  I thought it would be suitable for some makeup and a pocket mirror.
