The History:

 

the Crystal Empire, a beautiful and serene empire co-ruled over by King Sombra, the king of ponykind and queen Crystal Cocoon, the queen of the Changelings that co existed with and lived among the ponies of the empire. 

 

How-ever, king Sombra had started to get greedy and as he delved more and more into his research on the power of the crystals, he soon usurped the throne from Crystal and after a civil war had erupted, and all her hive were all but eliminated, Sombra had exiled Crystal to the Everfree Forest.

 

The Premise:

 

It has now been a century since and the love that Crystal had had stored was all but running out and she was in dire need of a good feed, so she ventures out of the forest, but as times had changed, she was unsure what to do, and even then, she was too starved, that she took to hiding in an alleyway.

 

Where You Come In:

 

Your oc, comes across Crystal, and taking pity on the starving, exiled queen, takes her in and begins to look after her. Then throughout the course of time, they both begin to bond and fall in love with each other. 

 

My OC:

 

Even though she is or was a Queen, she is a very down to earth, kind, caring and gentle mare. She prefers to have the love freely given to her rather than it being forcedly taken, and as she and her hive had coexisted with and lived among the crystal ponies, she had learned how to eat and survive off of normal pony food, but love was still her primary source of nourishment.

Given he was adopted and raised by a Griffin-pony couple, and some other factors like not being raised in equestria but as in bio a country (I made for the character but also am working to flesh out) named Thalemn that was founded by several different races escaping from one problem or another. So it would not be his first time seeing a changeling though he never saw a changeling queen.

 

So just to sum the ramble above up he would be surprised, suspicious and the like at first, but it would be due to work history rather then fear of changelings
