so, which do you think will do better in sales...

Recommended Posts

So, out of curiosity, which movie do you think will end up doing better at the box office, the upcoming Trolls movie, or MLP?
I know this sounds unrelated, but just curious since they're both 80s Toy brands that will be getting a movie, and both are primarily girls toys brands, so it'll be interesting to see which one sells better.

Trolls is being made by dreamworks whole cloth, and they have HEAVY respectability to the point that their name alone will probably kill alot of the stigma around it being a girls movie; on the other hand, MLP has an already established male fanbase, but still has a heavy stigma around it and is being made of a pre-existing show.

So, just out of curiosity: which do you think will do better?

Trolls is going to flop miserably. Nobody cares about the toyline and nothing is standout about the film. And it's coming out directly around Moana's release.

So yeah, MLP

I would laugh if after people have gotten these insane expectations of the film becoming a box office sensation and winning a lot of awards, for it to make less than Trolls of all movies.

There are some facts, not opinions, that we must consider:

Trolls Are Awful

The toys are awful

The movie looks awful

Ponehs for lyfe.

Seriously though, it's my opinion, that this looks like a lackluster movie and I don't see many kids wanting to see a troll movie. Plus the toy isn't popular, and even the adults who liked the toys growing up don't have a real connection with this new look. So it's a miss on all sides! No nostalgia, no presence, and no connection with kids.
