*disclaimer* I'm still new to the forums and haven't read much in this section. Not sure if I'm even posting in right area. If anything in my short story is similar to someone else I apologize. I just made this on my Facebook page. If it's to close to someone else's story let me know. And I'll go read theirs. Hope my 1st attempt isn't to horrible to read.

 

A few years has past since magic leaks were stopped, girls graduated highschool, and Sunset Shimmer returned permanently to Equestria to prevent the reality barrier from collapsing and destroying the human world.

 

Sunset Shimmer is flying home and her plane gets laid over for few days in Canterlot city. Not wanting to spend time at the airport she walks out to explore the city. She recalls her mother telling her great great grandfather was from Canterlot and decides to see if she can find something of him to tell her mom about.

 

Apple Jack while on a run to city to deliver apple farm goods to Cakes Bakery is chatting with Pinkie Pie. As they talk of memories AJ ask: Pie you think we'll ever have adventures like that again? Pinke: Yep I'm sure we will as I am that Sunset is walking by outside now. AJ and Pie both turn toward store window to see a brief glimse of bacon hair pass out of veiw. They quickly hoof it out the front door, only to realize she already gone from view.

 

Sunset while exploring the city came across a Shy woman near local animal clinic passing out flyers. She offered to take a few and spread them. Said she was looking around town for hints of a past relative and could help spread them.

Fluttershy hadn't bother to lookup from her stack of flyers, untill after she had handed the stranger a few copies. The stranger had started to walk away as Fluttershy started to thank her for her offer and help. Sunset waved bye over her shoulder as she disappeared around a corner. Fluttershy thought for sure it was Sunset and galloped down the street only to lose her in the busy crowd.

 

Twilight and Dash were at the local boys & girls club showing some kids how some of their favorite sports had science and mathematics related to them. Sunset was walking along side a sports field outside of a kids club and stopped on bleachers to rest a moment while watching kids play and learn. Twilight looked towards the bleachers and asked Dash. Twilight: Rainbow Dash do you see who I see? Dash: I think so but something fells off. Twilight: Kids don't runoff Dash and I will be right back. Dash: hurry twilight she looks like she is leaving. Twilight: she doesn't look like she sees us running towards her. Sunset having finished watching kids play got up and left as the teachers headed in her direction. She didn't see them and continued on her way.

 

Rarity was in her Boutique when bell rang on door. She was busy sewing when another sales rep helped the customer who came in. Sunset decided she needed a new pull over sweater. As sales rep rang her up she noticed the 75% discount she was given. Sunset question her but the rep only replied that the owner would fire heri she charged Sunset full price. As Sunset left confused but happy the rep called over Rarity. Rep: Rarity was it ok i gave your friend 75% off? Rarity: please darling my friends can just take wat they need and I usally just make them model for the store later on. Which one was it? Rep: it was the red and yellow hair one. Rarity: Sunset Shimmer??? said Rarity in excitement. Rep: yes that one. She bught a gree pullover sweater. Rarity jumped the counter and burst out of the store but saw not which way Shimmer went.

 

Later that evening the women had txted each other about their Shimmer sightings. They agreed to meetup at sugarcube corner and go together to the statue at their old school. They figured if it was Sunset Shimmer She be there waiting for them.

 

Sunset Shimmer after a day of trekking across town and research had found out her great great grandfather had build a statue for a school yard. She looked up the address and went to it. Her mother had told her that her Great great grandfather loved to hid secret treasures in his artwork. She looked the statue over and found a hidden compartment. It contained a letter and a hand mirror with 6 odd markings on the back. She held up the mirror toward the statue to examine the markings. She then read the letter. Dear Sunset Shimmer, This will seem odd but I know you my great great granddaughter. I hope you will stay in Canterlot city. I know like me you've spent a lot of time alone. You need some friends to live life with. Each of the markings on the back of the mirror represent a part of friendship. Some girls are sad that a friend moved away and could use you to cheer them up. If you look into the mirror you'll see 6 friends who know you but you don't know them. Trust them. This is my gift to you my great great granddaughter. From your loving great great grandfather Swirl Beard.

 

Sunset as she held up the mirror again and turned it over she saw 6 women in their early 20s standing behind her reflected in the mirror. She turned around and Then......

 

Twilight, Apple Jack, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, and Rarity all hollered welcome home Sunset.

 

Pinkie Pie: Well that's what I wI want to say say because you look like a friend of ours that went away to where we will not see her again, but your so much like her and we know you will make a good friend to and that unless you get on that flight out of here in 2 days that we will make you feel at home here, because that other friend your like left you alot of new friends here waiting for you.

 

AJ held her hand over Pinkie Pie's mouth.

Twilight: it's a lng story Sunset Shimmer join us for a snack at SugarcSugarcube Corner our treat.

 

Rarity: yes darling we could really use a 7th member in our group again.
