How do words in Equestria work?

So, I've never seen Equestria Girls, but I am confused as to how some words work.

Would Ponyville be Humanville, Canterlot be Runlot or Skiplot, Derpy Hooves be Derpy Feet, and the Mane Six be the Hair Six? That doesn't sound right?

"Mane 6" was a fan nickname for the Main 6 ponies, so most fans call the humans versions, the "Humane 6". The novels of the spin-off films do refer to those girls as "The Equestria Girls" in addition to their band name, "the Rainbooms".

Most of the Equestria Girls films take place in Canterlot High School, so the town is called Canterlot in Human world too, despite presumably being smaller than its Equestrian counterpart. The city where Crystal Prep is must be more closer in appearance to how Equestria's Canterlot is, if its high-class students are any indication.

Not every place is a perfect 1:1 ratio between the Pony world and the Human world.

Also, would a blank flank, despite those technically not existing in EqG, would they be called blank butts? o_o

Also, a "Cutie Mark" in the Equestria Girls world is not so much a butt tattoo that appears when you know your purpose in life. It's more like a symbol that any given human really loves to mark their belongings with, being on t-shirts, earings, books.

Forget who I heard this notion from, but I'm beginning to think of the term "Blank Flank" as a derogatory slur. Specially since cutie marks seem to be a symbol for coming of age & a social milestone for a fillies life.

Which brings me to my next question. I get that Stallion=Man & Mare=Woman, but I don't get the other terms for younger ages. Does filly mean all young ponies or just the girls? Think Colt=Boy but I've heard young adult males around their twenties be called colts before too. And what's foals mean? Baby? Because it sounds kind of awkward when Nightmare Moon goes about saying       "Hah! You babies!"

Thanks for helping, and if you do answer me here, make sure you hit the quote button too because there's like, a 30% chance of me finding this thread again.

Eh it jsut a case of over thinking I think.  I mean EQG Fluttershy still has no last name so ...yeah this other dimension is NOT earth.

They're words used for horses IRL, so a filly is a young mare and a colt is a young stallion. Foals are indeed babies, and Nightmare Moon just used the word because it formed a nice (or horrible, depending on your tastes) pun with 'fools', as well as implying their power is nothing compared to hers.
