general What is your political compass?

According to a table somebody posted on page one, I am on the border between anarcho-communism and -socialism. That is definately not the case, because I support the existence of government and authority, but it has to be justified and exist "to do good" only. Also, socialism requires a strong central adminstration for the means of distributation of wealth, so "anarcho-socialism" would be an oxymoron.

Here's the thing about anarchism: it's not strictly about believing the  government should not exist. It's more about the gap between government and the people it supposedly represents should be smaller, much smaller. That the State should be much more involved with the people, as the people could be themselves; and this can be achieved by massive state reform that puts the strength of the government in the hands of the people. But also goes beyond that to democratize much more, or some such depending on the school of Anarchism; Anarcho-Syndicalists might advocate more in way of worker control of the workplace as the democratic seat of power, where as Anarcho-Communists argue it elsewhere. But when dealing with left-leaning philosophy what a friend of mine said to me comes to mind: "The left agrees on what they want, it's just they don't agree on how they should get there."

That said, this is the Anarcho-Syndicalist structure as I believe the CNI/FAI applied it during the Spanish Civil War:

And they did pretty well up until Stalin stirred the pot because they were too Trotsky.

Trotsky is another interesting case, and to make it brief: the basic idea of Trotskyism from an administrative standpoint was that the USSR (or the USSR under Stalin) was too wrapped up in, and made more distant from the people they supposedly represent by obstructive bureaucracy that protected the party from the popular interest; and this bureaucracy wasn't necessarily answerable to a democratic process and only served The Party's interest over the people's.

But the idea behind Anarchism isn't to smash the system completely and sitting back and see what happens; that's Nihilism. The basic idea is to spur civic engagement and egalitarianism by producing a structure encouraging audience participation and that in the end the reason why no one votes (roughly half of the registered voting population in the US for example ever votes in presidential elections) is that they don't feel like their opinion matters, because the system is totally divorced from them.

This is strange, because whenever I talk politics with anyone they tend call me a fascist, and I'm closer to the Lib Dems on this scale than I am to the BNP or even the BUF (and I hate the Lib Dems, they're Pro-EU fools).

Maybe I just don't register on this scale or something. Or maybe my political ideals are so far flung across the entire board that I score in the middle.

Economically I tend to be centre-left. Socially (so far as they can be separated) I'm probably further left, with a fairly strong belief in personal freedom so long as no harm comes to others - but I include animals to a much, much higher degree than the mainstream.

I dislike the tendency of much of the modern left to see the world in categories. Categories can be useful to explain the world to a certain degree but they should never replace the individuals being categorised.

I very much hope Macron wins in France.

The first test says I am more libertarian left. It does kinda make sense to me now, as I have always had a libertarian thought on things but really never put two and two together. Almost to the center, which is kinda interesting. Haven't taken the second test yet.

Well, here's my political compass. I'm not sure quite how accurate it is ( how accurate can an online test really ever be? ) but it does certainly reflect many of my personal ideologies, particularly those against out-dated, counter productive traditions. Tradition should never be held as a priority when it comes to decision making in both government and private industry. I'm clearly more on the libertarian side of things and I do believe that the government( s ) ( particularly those of the USA and the UK ) stick their noses far too much into the common population's lifestyles. Terrorism is the government's business. They started it and they're going to finish it, I'm not giving or sacrificing anything to help them with it. I also stand by my thoughts that wealth is more valuable than equality. If someone has money then they've done something right, and their personal wealth should NOT be be pressured into being donated to charity. I don't believe in charity, I don't enjoy charity and I'm definitely never going to partake in charity. If that person HASN'T done anything to earn their wealth, well then there's nothing that you can do.

This is my political compass. I'm leaning somewhat to the left and I'm libertarian, which makes complete sense to me as I'm not super religious (or religious in any case) and most of my ideals perfectly line up with that of the libertarian party and the left.

I'm closer to the right than this. I consider myself a member of the Left, but I do share some ideals with the Right.

Economic Left/Right: -7.75
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -3.79

I've found I've gone more right-wing since I started uni (before I started I would have been on the left and by Christmas I was more in the centre than I am now) and started thinking for myself. My options on things that affect my country such as Brexit and who should be in charge have changed massively. I think I talk to my right wing friends too much, most of my friends are either right or centre.

I didn't take the test, but I'm a Republican, I wouldn't say I TOTALLY lean to the right, but I do mostly pretty much, if that makes sense.

I support Trump, and I'm not afraid to say it!

As expected, I'm on the libertarian right. I believe in free markets and a very limited government that only exists to protect natural rights. I wouldn't quite call myself a "minarchist," but I lean in that direction.

I've taken this test a good dozen times over the past several years, and I've always ended up in more or less the same place. Solidly liberal, but well within reason.

I've taken the political compass test a few times in the past. I know I'm very libertarian, but the other axis varies - I'm neither strongly capitalist nor socialist.

At any rate, I'm not a fan of mainstream politics in my country. :scots:

Took this plenty of times on my old account, but I'll take this again because why not. But of course, not the compass test because it's a dead meme at this point and a not very concise test to say the least, but the 8values test because it's a better metric, even from what I can tell is a slight left lean in the results.

I'm a libertarian leftist if it isn't obvious by these fairly accurate results (even with some mis-termed questions).
