How tolerant are bronies?

More tolerant than most I've been in, I'd like to say. It's still the Internet, so you know it's never sunshine and rainbows. The only other fandom I've been in that didn't feel like it would tear me apart was the Warriors fandom.

How tolerant are people in general?

I think that although the MLP fandom is by no means a representative cross-section of society at large you will nevertheless find people of all levels of tolerance therein.  I think the only accurate generalisation you can make about any fandom is that its members are fans of the subject.

I think we all actually very tolerant  than other fandom i know. where people don't insult others bec somepony have different opinions.  It very much easy for me to say something without fearing being criticized. All is willing to share different aspect idea in a mannerly way.  You guys are the best!

I'll tell you one thing, bronies with pony avatars on Youtube with their often cringeworthy comments can be quite intolerable.

its youtube, anyone can be very intolerable..i dont know why that is...perhaps too much  testosterone

I would say many are very very tolerant.

The ones that aren't very very tolerant are extremely intolerant. From my experience. I have had many good discussions with brony trump supporters, but I have also run into to those that are like "Liberals are horrible!" "You're just like every single one of those other people" etc. And when it comes to mlp things "You don't really like EQG you just say that because it's mlp" "That episode was trash and if you like..." etc.

But yea I would definitely more tolerable than most people in my opinion.

Not as tolerant as many make it out to be. Don't get me wrong, there are a lot of accepting and wonderful people in the fandom... and those are the ones who can often make it all feel worthwhile... but you still always have those that just have to go out of their way to make it as awful as possible for anyone on the outside looking in. But I think it is pretty much fandoms in general like that, and not just this one.

I'd say most of the bronies in the fandom are tolerable as they are easy to talk to and are welcoming towards newcomers. However, there are some who are just unbearable. This small group feel that they are entitled by saying they can do better than the show staff and are purists who only like certain aspects of MLP..

You see, the standards of tolerance are already rising too high

There are a lot of nice and tolerant bronies. But as their are many of them, there are also alot of intolerant bronies. Every brony i know on official mlp websites and artist are very nice and tolerant. Like i said, most of them. On other websites there are lesser tolerant bronies. Those are often younger. Even though we're all nice, we're just people.

So, like i said, most bronies i know are very nice and tolerant. Most of them.  :smug:

Considering the content--heck, the entire purpose--of the show we Bronies love so much, we can be surprisingly intolerant.

Can you blame us, though? We are made fun of a lot. It's natural to become oversensitive and angry when people mock you all the time. :=:

Not very.  Everybody dislikes some other part of the fandom, and some people go out of their way to throw other fans under the bus when trying to seem less "cringy" or implicate the amorphous "darker side of the fandom."  If you're new to the fandom, here's a simple guide I put together that will let you know just who it is you're supposed to hate:

But tolerance is overrated anyway; acceptance is much better.  And you don't get acceptance from fandoms; you get it from loved ones.

I'm not sure, really. To be fair, I really don't know what 'tolerant' is supposed to mean in this context anyway. If it comes down to 'don't be homophobic' then this fandom is pretty tolerant, I guess.
