What has My Little Pony done for your life?

I'd love to hear about how being a Brony has helped/not helped people as it could either be inspiring or interesting.

For me, MLP made me see the smiles in every situation, and made me understand people's emotions and situations better which helped me get along better with both my family and my friends.

Well, it's the light in the darkness I'm currently in. But thanks to it, I'm more willing to seek good friends, and appreciate my uniqueness, individuality, and as a person. Oh, and made me see that working-out is  serious business (seriously, before ponies, I had some pounds than needed to go away  :D )

Kept me entertained for uncountable amounts of hours, given me something to talk about, helped me make a few good friends I wouldn't have otherwise, and kept my life from spiraling down into total misery. I rely on this show probably a bit more than I maybe should.

Put me on the career path I am now. Seriously I would not be doing what I love for a living without this show and fandom. As well as smaller but more important things like improved relations with one of my bothers. (Thank Rarity and Sweetie Belle for that.) As well as an increased willingness to try and seek friends rather than let them come to me. (Which doesn't happen.) Most of all, the show and fandom helped me realize that being happy was not something I needed to feel bad about.

Wow, so many replies so quick! It's really interesting to hear how much FIM has had an effect on each other's lives, is it not? It's very inspiring to hear from people like you, thanks for replying :)

It's given me something I can look forward to each week and each season, something I truly enjoy that I can talk about, something to care and sometimes even to obsess about. It's one of those few things that have helped me survive for the last years, and while I haven't exactly met any close friends thanks to it, I've seen a lot of great people in this community, be it content creators or just regular fans I see here and there. All of that makes me feel proud of being a fan of the show, and as long as the fandom exists I'll be here.

It's become a part of my daily life: to me watching MLP has become something as normal as checking my phone or grabbing a drink in the fridge, it's become an aspect of my daily routine and an enjoyable one at that. MLP to me is more than just a show, it's like this neat little ritual to me, an aspect of my daily life that isn't an absolute must for my survival - far from it - but it's still an activity that always gets me in a good mood.

Another thing for me is it's actually raised my awareness for sites and forums online. I would have never met so many online friends or discovered so many cool places without my love for ponies :3

well its changed my life to be honest. I already had an online presence through the furry fandom, meeting new people there and all that but i went through a dark patch being a furry, ponies came around and just made everything better for me.

My artwork seems to have sold better and gained more popularity than i did with the furry stuff, the fandom is nicer in general and ive finally been able to take off with doing song singing even if its song covers from the show.

but the biggest thing this fandom has done for me is my home and relationships. being with my ex was as if i was transitioning from the furry fandom to the brony fandom, but i felt he tried to hold me back in the furry fandom and it went quite downhill. Now adays im on the very edge of leaving that community as im just perfectly happy with bronies and my offline life atm. Im now with Denz Xavier, who Id have never had met if it wasnt for this fandom. He was just this guitarist I met at a CCG meet who wrote his own music and id asked him to do some tracks for my covers, but we started hanging out a lot after last year's UK ponycon and then we've been pretty inseparable since BUCK this year.

We just finished moving into our first house together. You have no idea how happy ive been because of him and it is all thanks to the Brony fandom, i've finally got my life on track and im happy.

MLP is like a positive life source for me. It always helps me to see the good sides of the bad events or situations :P

It made me gain new friends plus getting interest in things in where they're from, I never realised that it was interesting until earlier this year. It also made me more happy because I don't think I would've been the same person if it wasn't for MLP.

Loving the acting on the show inspired me to stop talking about "one day" wanting to do voice acting as well as stage and camera acting and go ahead and cut a demo. Since then I've signed with a talent agent and regularly audition for Disney Jr., Cartoon Network and assorted video game companies. Hopefully I can tell you guys about a casting soon. :D

Being a brony has opened my eyes up to a world that I never knew existed and I appreciate everyone who comes to this fandom with the right intentions. It wasn't an easy transition when I first joined the herd three years ago. Tradegy struck my family at the time and it was that which ultimately brought me here.
