Will releasing 3 specials a year be the format going forward?

Do you guys think that, assuming they were to make more EQG after these specials next year, that this "specials" format will be the norm going forward, or will we go back to having one movie a year?

Well, it should be kept in mind that the MLP movie is coming out next year. They might have felt that releasing these specials instead of another EQG movie was a good idea, to avoid taking any hype away from the pony movie. Since these specials are 22 minutes each, they could also potentially be a test run of sorts for a legitimate Equestria girls show.

So, it could go a few ways. New specials from now on, back to movies, starting a full show, they've got options. I don't think they're considering ending it, not yet, if they're still making money from it, there's no reason to.

I think it may be their way of testing the waters to see if it was possible to finally produce an Equestria Girls television show along the same and/or similar lines to what the show currently experiences. After four movies, it might be high-time for them to want to move onto the next level. Then again, it could be due to DHX not wanting to work on animating two movies and an entire twenty-six episode season for next year.

I'm pretty sure it'll be the other way around :dash:

Anyway, I dunno why thy took so long to do this. Sure, maybe the 100% pony movie coming the same year is the main reason, but it's a good chance to test water and see if more EG is more profitable

I am pretty sure these specials are testing the waters on if the series could work in 22 minute increments. If these specials are a success, I would expect to see an EQG TV series or Netflix original animated series.
