I have no idea what I want to do with him tho, sense he was just a random sketch.

Name: Dusty Hoof

Age: 25

Residence: Ponyville

Brief Bio:

 

Dusty Hoof lives in Ponyville and runs a bookstore. His family, as a rule, were tough manual workers so Dusty Hoof is kind of an oddity among them. However, this doesn't mean that his family shuns him; in fact, tho they might not agree with his choice of career, they are fully supportive of it. Dusty Hoof's cutie mark is that of an open book with a glow around it, representing his courage and bravery in choosing to go a different path to his family's careers. He is a kind pony, but hates it when others are mean. Bullies would make him lose his temper; he might work in a bookstore but that doesn't mean he can't give out a kicking when it's deserved. He doesn't have a special somepony but hopes to eventually meet somepony in the future.

Name: Second Chance

Age: (physically) 20

Residence: Crystal Empire

Brief Bio: 

 

Second Chance doesn't really recall much about his past; he simply woke up in the snow, discovered by a Crystal Guard patrol.  He had no idea where he was from, nor who he was.  He spent an entire year under the watchful care of an elderly doctor by the name of Heart Monitor, who eventually adopted him into her family.  He now works as a receptionist for her practice, keeping track of schedules and being a sociable busybody.

 

The truth of the matter is far deeper than even Chance suspects; he is a remnant of King Sombra's soul.

 

When the vile monarch was seemingly destroyed, there was still a small portion of his soul that was kind and uncorrupted.  This part of the despot, hidden away inside for so long, finally had its' chance to be reborn; the Crystal Heart, having seen this good in him, gave this tiny portion of goodwill a chance to have a life of its' own, and so embodied it within Second Chance.

 

There is no connection between Chance and Sombra - the Crystal Heart permanently severed that link - and Chance is a simple Earth Pony as well; the Dark King will never be reborn through him... but what little good remained within the vile monarch now has an opportunity to live a life that can be as full and kind as it could ever hope for.

 

The ONLY sign of any connection to a magical past is the faint glow in his eyes.
