So, princess twilight vs. sci-twi: Which twilight do you like better?

So, here's a question: Which of the two do you like better, princess twilight sparkle, or the version of Twilight in equestria girls?
The two have notably different personalities and group dynamics (Most probably to make room for Sunset in the group while she doesn't exist in FIM), so they're functionally very different characters.


So, which twilight is your favorite and why?

Sci Twi feels like Fluttershy - Twilight edition, and Princess Twilight is still my second favorite character in the show, she's the one I grew up with and loved, and she still shines when they bring back her old dorky self every once in a while(Top Bolt and TT123 come to mind), so Princess Twilight wins it for me

There isn't a single character in EQG that I prefer over their Equestrian counterpart.  I don't mind EQG on the whole, but there is something odd about it, maybe it's just the cliche setting but the characters don't come across as particularly convincing, at least not in comparison to their Equestrian counterparts.

As evidenced by my profile picture, signature and some of the previous posts I've made, I think it's pretty obvious that I like Sci-Twi way more than Princess Twilight. I mainly like Sci-Twi because I think her and I have got so much in common, and she just seems like that one thing that was missing in the movies.

Princess Twilight, because I've always liked animal characters better. Plus I connect with her more because I think she could actually be my peer. Sci-Twi is a teenager and still in high school and I'm already past that phase. ^^'

I prefer Sci-Twi because she's essentially what Princess Twilight was when she first started out, but has experienced things that her pony counterpart has yet to feel personally. Plus, I'm a sucker for her appearance. It gives off the whole "geeky" vibe that Her Highness still displays on occasion. Sci-Twi also relied on trying to apply a scientific approach towards understanding magic, and spent an entire movie worried about becoming corrupted once again all because she was still struggling to come to terms with it.

Princess Twilight is far more developed and confident and plus we have all 6 seasons worth of pony Twilight's general character. In return, the time itself limits screen time Sci-Twi interactions in EQG but quite frankly, she was essentially the "Pre-Elements of Harmony" Twilight.

I like this more alternative take on Twilight Sparkle.  A protege from another school with the best test scores, and yet had a troubled past of being Midnight Sparkle.  Also, making her the apprentice of Sunset Shimmer(Who too also suffered from a troubled past) felt like a better approach to the character.

Aside from the music I prefer the aspects of the MLP universe over the EqG one, although I like both.

 

Sci Twi feels like Fluttershy - Twilight edition

 

Pretty much, one thing I liked about pony Twilight was that she wasn't the stereotypical nerd with social anxiety who didn't make friends because she was afraid, she was confident and didn't make friends because she wasn't interested (Heck, they even made this Sci-Twilight look more like a nerd by how they changed her design). Sci-Twilight is a very different character, and while I like her she doesn't have what makes pony Twilight great in my opinion, Sunset Shimmer is closer to that.

Now that EQG has fallen into the same pool as Sailor Moon and PMMM, I've lost all interest in the series as a whole

Hard choice. I'm not a big fan of the path either of these characters have been taking, and yet I enjoy their earlier appearances almost equally. Pony Twilight is the character who I enjoyed and related to most in the first few seasons, but since becoming a princess she's become really kinda boring most of the time. Human Twilight had a lot more of the insecurity and personality which Twilight has lost lately, but I think the series continuing to push on her meekness isn't really right for the character. While I don't want Twilight taking over for Sunset Shimmer, the less confidence they give her, the less recognizable she becomes, and that sort of runs counter to why I find Equestria Girls appealing in the first place. In the end, I'll go with pony Twilight, if only because she's the one which I was first invested in, and because she's had more time to develop and more screen time in which to excel.

I prefer Princess Twilight, she is wiser, more experienced and more confident and I generally like her design better. One thing I like about Human Sparkle though is her intelligence and grasp of Science, I respect those things.

Princess Twilight will forever be the true Twilight for me. Don't get me wrong, I like Sci-Twi, but on the whole I like Princess Twilight so much more because of everything she's already learned through the years. Aside from that, SunLight is my OTP and I don't want SciTwi in the way of that.
