I don't think, that lesbian pairings will be on cartoon, and it's badly. because gomophobia it is a bad, very bad.

We're not talking about lesbian pairings, just characters we want to see have an episode together

Honestly I just want them to change it up. I don't care for the map pairings... I know why they do it and I do seriously get it, but it just bugs me.

I would like to see episodes where more than just two can go along as with the S5 premier. Or perhaps episodes where a background or side character goes along to both learn and help with a problem. The cutie map episodes, although sometimes pretty good (as in the case with Top Bolt), also sometimes feel a bit forced to me, especially with the way they play out sometimes.

To me it just seems they make them a bit too predictable once you see who the pairings are.

But since a guess is required... here is what I am tossing out there... will see how close i get.

Rarity & Fluttershy - I think this one will involve a situation that makes both of them very uncomfortable... perhaps dealing with the Dragons again... each of them having very bad memories of particular situations... and each of them having to realize they have to support each other through their fear to solve the problem at hand.

Applejack & Rainbow Dash - They are both stubborn, so I would imagine this episode will put them at odds on something in which they will have to come to terms that the other may actually be right before solving the problem.

Twilight & Pinkie Pie - Twilight loves Pinkie, but I don't think she truly believes how insightful Pinkie can be at times. So I imagine this episode will be about Pinkie having the right idea the entire episode and Twilight being too detailed, calculated and determined to just see the simple answer in front of her.

"Fluttershy and Twilight in Appleloosa! No, Pinkie and Rainbow Dash in Las Pegasus! No, Rainbow Dash and Twilight in Yakyakistan! No, Twilight and Twilight in Twilight's castle!"

Seriously though, these would be my pairings:

  • Twilight and Pinkie.
  • Applejack and Rainbow Dash.
  • Rarity and Fluttershy.

I just want Pinkie and Twilight to be together in an episode, that's a great duo we've hardly seen before (the only episode I remember is Feeling Pinkie Keen). The other two duos are because I don't want any duo to be repeated. I'd also love to see Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash or Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie together.

Rarity/Rainbow Dash. Loved them so much in "Rarity Investigates!" that I really wish they had a lot more episodes together.

Otherwise, I don't really know. Twilight/Pinkie would be a good combo, but unless we double up one character, that leaves AJ/Fluttershy, which we just had. A map episode might be better for Pinkie/Fluttershy than "Buckball Season," and I don't remember when we had Twi/AJ, so those could work.

'Course, I'd be happier to see these without the map, but it's clearly here to stay, as much as that annoys me.

I want to see Twilight and Twilight in Twilight's Castle. Future Twilight (Who's a Unicorn) comes back and she's 800% mad because the timelines are still ruined and Starlight fixed nothing. She's here to take out the trash, whether Alicorn Twi likes it or not.

  1. Twilight Sparkle/Applejack
  2. Twilight Sparkle/Rarity
  3. Twilight Sparkle/Pinkie Pie
  4. Applejack/Pinkie Pie
  5. Applejack/Rainbow Dash
  6. Rainbow Dash/Rarity
  7. Rainbow Dash/Fluttershy
  8. Rarity/Fluttershy
  9. Fluttershy/Pinkie Pie

At the current rate, we have enough Map Episodes to sustain until Season 9. Good. My belief that show will only get better with each passing season and move at the appropriate pace is unwavering. Anyway, for Season 7, I think that my preferred pairings that would avoid overlapping would be 2, 5, 9.

Out of all the Mane 6, I think that Twilight and Rarity's dynamic needs the most focus out of all the remaining pairs as I don't think they've ever shared the spotlight together as they when they do interact, it's mostly to support Spike, something involving Rarity's business, or for either to make placatory/appreciative comments during two-parters. I just find it weird that Rarity and Pinkie Pie (the strangest pairing, IMO) have interacted far more than Twilight and Rarity have on a personal level. Seriously, they were both unicorns at some point, that's common ground, come on already.

It's been some time since Rainbow Dash and Applejack have truly got an episode although people think otherwise simply because of their similar countenances (Fall Weather Friends), Applejack is strangely usually always veering towards Rarity (I'm looking at you, Legend of Everfree). I think Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie would simply be great together (Buckball Season)

Twilight/Applejack.
The two of them have very straight forward personalities, and the comics have shown that AJ can butt heads pretty well with Twilight due to having some decent leadership potential, coming off as the second in command at times.

Rarity/Rainbow dash: Loved the pairing in rarity investigates, and its rare to get these two together. Lets get another one.

Pinkie/Fluttershy... Umm... pair the spares? :P

It doesn't always have to be two ponies that end up partaking in a map mission. Why not expand the number and allow for three or maybe even four ponies to be called to someplace by the Cutie Map. The first mission involved all of the Mane Six so why not have something similar but with one or two fewer ponies?

As we've already observed, the map episodes in Seasons 5 and 6 (not counting "The Cutie Map") obey the following restrictions:

(1) There are three map episodes per season.
(2) Each map episode pairs two of the Mane Six.
(3) Each of the Mane Six appears in exactly one map episode per season.
(4) No Mane Six pairing is re-used.

As a reminder, these are the Mane Six pairings that have appeared in map episodes previously:

Season 5:

Rainbow - Pinkie ("The Lost Treasure Of Griffinstone")
Rarity - Applejack ("Made In Manehattan")
Twilight - Fluttershy ("The Hooffields And McColts")

Season 6:

Rarity - Pinkie ("Spice Up Your Life")
Fluttershy - Applejack ("Viva Las Pegasus")
Twilight - Rainbow ("Top Bolt")

So, considering the above restrictions and the map episodes that have appeared so far, the following are, by my reckoning, the only possible season configurations of map episodes that can be made:

Season A:

Twilight - Pinkie
Rarity - Fluttershy
Rainbow - Applejack

Season B:

Twilight - Applejack
Rarity - Rainbow
Fluttershy - Pinkie

Season C:

Twilight - Rarity
Fluttershy - Rainbow
Applejack - Pinkie

Season X:

Twilight - Rarity
Fluttershy - Pinkie
Rainbow - Applejack

So, for example, if you want to see a Rarity - Rainbow map episode pairing, Season B is the only way to get that with the above restrictions. Also note that if Season X is used, then no further season configurations of map episodes can be constructed within the restrictions, whereas Seasons A, B, and C could all be used in successive seasons while fulfilling the restrictions.

I'm rather ambivalent about whether I would prefer one of these season map episode configurations above the others. I can see pros and cons about each of them.

In Season A, I wouldn't be too hopeful about the Twilight - Pinkie pairing. I fear that it might be something like "Feeling Pinkie Keen", where Twilight is made out to be wrong for being dogmatically committed to a methodical studying/thinking approach, while Pinkie inexplicably has the solution but makes no accommodation to Twilight's perspective. We've seen Rarity and Fluttershy hang out on the show several times before, so they could work together, but I'm not sure how entertaining an episode that would make. We've seen Rainbow and Applejack in "competition mode", against each other but also cooperating, so an episode with them could go either way.

Next, in Season B, Rarity and Rainbow would be paired as they were in "Rarity Investigates!" in Season 5, and I rather liked that episode, so that pairing could work, although the opportunities for what they could work on together might be limited. Pairing Pinkie with Fluttershy could tone down some of Pinkie's brashness and hyperactivity, and I can see Pinkie as being somewhat less likely to overshadow Fluttershy. However, Twilight and Applejack doesn't seem like a terribly interesting pairing to me. While the Rarity - Rainbow and Fluttershy - Pinkie pairings have sufficiently different perspectives and skills to be interesting to see work together, I don't see many such possibilities for Twilight - Applejack.

Finally, Season C pairs each of the two earth ponies, pegasi, and unicorns (/alicorn), although I wouldn't consider that an issue in itself. To my recollection, we haven't seen Twilight and Rarity interact one-on-one much at all, so that pairing could fill in that gap, although that gap might exist because there's not much interesting that the two of them can do with each other. While I did enjoy Rainbow and Fluttershy interacting in, for example, "Hurricane Fluttershy", one concern might be that Rainbow would quickly become the dominant force in that pairing, with Fluttershy not doing much, which is kind of what happened with Twilight dominating in "The Hooffields And McColts". And I would be afraid that an Applejack and Pinkie episode would be something to do with their families, which I have no particular desire to see more of, or that it would become like the Twilight - Pinkie scenario above, where Applejack would be portrayed as too stubborn to accept Pinkie's inexplicably correct solution.

This ain't happening anymore. We only got ONE map episode for the WHOLE season, and it's Starlight in A Royal Problem.

Maybe not a bad thing though. :squee:
