Jenn Blake's Cancer Treatment Fund

Ashen Pathfinder

Recommended Posts

Typically we have to be picky with what donation links we allow, but this is one we cannot ignore. Jenn Blake, known as one of the artists for the IDW MLP comics and always a big presence at pony conventions, has brain cancer and cannot afford her treatment. She has been an invaluable part of the forum's Make Christmas Merrier events over the years; including doing Q&A's and donating art that we could action to raise money for the Kid's Hospital.

I'll let the following from the link do the talking:

https://www.gofundme.com/jenn-blakes-cancer-treatment#

My Little Pony artist and provocateur Jenn Blake has been on a farewell tour of the con circuit. This is not because she's moving on to other fandoms or starting a new life as a Fireball tasting specialist.

It's because she's dying.

She has brain cancer. She cannot afford the treatment that could save her life.

We are asking family, friends, bronies and all those who love Jenn to donate. Any amount helps. The amount requested is to pay for existing medical debt, and to create a buffer against future expenses without which she cannot survive.

Please help, so we can enjoy Jenn, enjoy Jenn's art (and suffer her sense of humor, too unfortunately), for years to come.

Join us in saving Jenn Blake's life.
Help spread the word!

It looks like the goal has been met, but if you can donate anything, it would be appreciated. Considering what she has done for Poniverse, it's the least we could do.

Please everyone, whatever you can do, please do it!  This doesn't just have to be a donation even, even just spreading it around for others to see on social media is very much appreciated!  Let's come together and do what we can, for Jenn ya'll!!!  :rarity:  :(  :muffins:

I've met Jenn several times, and each time she's been a joy. I've got several pieces of art signed by her, thanks to MCM. She's donated a lot of money for our fund raisers in the past, and it's time we gave back to her. If anyone can beat cancer, it's this bad bitch. She'll beat it with a joke and a smirk.

I don't think that could've been said any better.  :sneer:

Thank you Path and all for posting this. The kids and I have been crestfallen since hearing this earlier tonight. I know that I have been known to be liberal about tossing out praise, but I am promise that there is no hyperbole when I say that Jenn is one of the truest people I have met in this fandom. Hilarious, generous (her contribution to last year's MCM helped to make it a runaway success), and more personally ... she is inspirational. I attended BABSCon earlier in the year with my kids in tow. Both my kids had been dealing with a mountain of life dropping on then, and her words recharged them.

I don't know what exactly it was that was said to my son when he personally talked to Jenn, but whatever it was seemed to hit home hard. Both my kids left that con with a sense of respect and admiration for Jenn that goes far beyond just meeting a official guest. She had an impact on them, and for a while on me. Her DM's and random silliness brighten up a day like no other. They broke the mold when that made her.

And then I heard about this. I did my part. I know that the goal is 10K and she reached that (Than God), but let me tell you that the true cost of what she is dealing with far exceeds that. I know what a protracted illness of this sort can do to you ... financially and emotionally. After seeing things like this and experiencing them first hand, it breaks my heart to know Jenn will be fighting for her life. I will continue to support this and her as I can, and I ask that this community do the same. This world needs people like Jenn Blake.

Thank you again guys for posting this. You have my undying respect. <3

Let's put this topic back on the surface, because this is not over yet.

The main surgery might be covered. But i know from my own circle of acquaintances, recovering from such a tread is a long, expensive and painful struggle. At the moment, we are on over 36'500$. Bronies, you are amazing.

Because living on a continent far away from the US, i never met her in person. But she's the reason why i am here, signed in exactly a year ago. And i love her art style.

And for those who have no idea who she is:

Jen, you're one of the coolest artists I've had the chance to work with at a Convention. Of all the artists I've met - you are my favorite! I just want you to know I support you in your fight against cancer and I reposted your gofundme links on all five of my facebook pages, so that should reach about 7,000 people. You may not remember me but we worked together back in 2015 at the St. Louis Project:ComicCon 2015. You signed several poster prints for me and my two older daughters in between my sets and announcements. I was one of the MCs at the ComicCon.

Don't give up sweetie, you're going to get through this and beat it! You're young and have a lot of life still left to live! I believe in you! *BIG HUGS*
