I found out about stuff like this yesterday and was absolutely outraged.

 

 

What the hell was going through people's minds? Wasn't she the only one to appear in practically all of the s5 episodes? She's part of the mane 6, for god's sake!! Just because you hate her, doesn't mean she deserves this. I really hope this ridiculous phase is over now as seeing content like this makes me even more disgusted in the people who hate Applejack and makes me ashamed to be a brony.

That stuff is like way older than season 5, I think it was around like...season 2 to 3 or something? Anyway, it wasn't meant to be anything serious, most people weren't using it to hate on AJ, most were saying it as a joke. Some even expressed a wish for her to get more episodes.

Because the internet always needs to make fun of something and someone, AJ's card got pulled.  In The Mentally Advanced Series, (which you should watch if you haven't, seriously what is wrong with you go watch it) Fluttershy is cast as the useless background pony, and he makes it pretty funny.

If Applejack was the protagonist of the show, I think the show would go in a different path but that does mean it would be bad, I wouldn't get tired of seeing her save Equestria all the time because she's probably the least flawed of the six. She also has the most appearances out of the six, probably due to her appearing in the CMC episodes.

 

Also, people need to get over some things in the show especially the stuff in Season 1, they need to get over AppleDash because that hasn't been relevant since 2011, I've seen more scenes with AJ and Rarity together these days, calling Minuette Colgate because the show made it clear they are not going to call her that and Twilight isn't going to write friendship letters all the time, that would get quite old quick.

 

It's Season 6/2016, time to get with the times.

Okay. Let me correct you.

 

Before Twilight was a princess she was a socially insecure nerd

Rainbow Dash can fly and is boastful, she's also part of a group of other ponies who can fly fast and by boastful.

Pinkie Pie is well known in Ponyville. This is because she lives in possibly the most elaborate house in Ponyville. And she's part of the mane 6.

Rarity is dramatic, so? Doesn't make her any better than humble AJ. She also uses false eyelashes.

Fluttershy to you may be lovely and cute, but to me she's boring and pathetic. It's a matter of opinion. Fluttershy may be good with animals but AJ's good with family and farming. And because she's shy, how does that make her any more interesting?

 

Applejack is a high spirited, athletic, cutely enthusiastic farm girl who owns a massive property and probably makes a hell of a lot of money from it, has a large and awesome family, is probably more recognised than Pinkie for her products, is the Element of Honesty, which isn't as good as princess, sure, but it's still pretty awesome. She has been proven to be just as athletic as Rainbow Dash is in some cases just as fast as her. Does she have to have wings to be cool? Applejack isn't dramatic, which is an advantage, not a flaw. And, ahem, the applehorse is actually very beautiful i'll have you know. Applejack has been seen to perform feats of adventure with her adorable dog, Winona, which shows she's skilled with animals as well, along with her natural herding abilities. I guarantee Fluttershy would be trampled before she could herd a horde of manic cows from wrecking Ponyville. She's also, most of the time, one of the most adorable members of the Mane 6.

So actually, it's never okay to make a joke out of her, as you can see, she's not boring at all, she's awesome And just because someone has a flaw, doesn't mean that's an excuse to mock them. That's the basis concept of bullying. And i'm sure you don't want to be known as a bully, now, do you?

I'm not sure I really understand why this is such a big deal. One can joke about a thing they sincerely like. Twilight is probably my favorite pony, but I have no trouble making fun of her nerdy tendencies.

 

But anyway, about Applejack:

I think AJ actually serves a critical role in the group by being the most mellow and down to earth of the lot. In comedy, there is a classical character slot called 'the Straight Man'. 'The Straight Man' means any character who is standing in as the voice of reason, who underlines all the quirks of the various other characters by being serious and calm. Remember the line in the Grand Galloping Gala episode: "Beg pardon Rarity, but we don't normally wear clothes"? That's classic Straight Man. She's making Rarity's reaction seem all the more ridiculous by pointing out how silly it is, especially in such underwhelmed way. At least to me she's a welcome addition to a group that consists of so many big, overly dramatic personalities.

However, joke's a joke and people will be people. Opinions will be opinions.   If people accept that you like AJ, you should accept that some people don't like AJ as well. It's sort of a win, win, that way. Don't get me wrong though, I'm totally on your side in this and anyone who thinks AJ is boring is obviously wrong through my point of view, hahah! Screw the haters. Point is, don't let them get to you. AJ is still the best, no matter what they think.

Yes. Because it was a joke referring to the fact that the #1 complaint for S6, is that Starlight has been the star and all of the other characters have been background characters. Which is why I said you can substitute whichever character you like in her place.
