This could prove to be very interesting but I'm wondering if it will be more expensive given Toon Boom Harmony is more sophisticated than Flash. I suppose it makes sense that Hasbro wants to go this route as they want the movie to be a blockbuster as opposed to a made-for-tv special.

Sounds good to me, and it makes sense they'd go bigger and better for the movie, the promotional art makes it look like it's a slightly different style too, though similar enough. I'm looking forward to it.

 

 Though, in slightly unrelated news, the mane on that other character that isn't Twilight annoys me, it doesn't look right.

The article says it will have a "3D effect", so does this mean it will be something similar to Paperman?

The animation program that Duo Cartoonist used for this specific animation, is the same one that will be used in the Movie (Toon Boom Harmony), so the possibilities of the quality of the Movie's animation being to this level if not much better are pretty high.

I like the style better then flash. Gives it a more traditional animation look. Very pretty.

 

It'd be nice to see this as the new mlp style permanently.

I can't wait for some screenshots or footage to see how they look.

 

In particular, what would really be fun is a Pinkie Pie themed 4th wall breaking teaser with the Mane 6 looking themselves over and talking about it.
