Ever since I was a kid, my parents would watch British shows on PBS. More often than not they would be shown on Saturday nights. Ever since then I've grown accustomed to watching these British Comedies myself.

I've always liked such ones as:

-Monty Python

-Fawlty Towers

-Keeping Up Appearances

-Chef!

-Vicar of Dibley

-Mr. Bean

-Black Adder

-The Young Ones

-Are You Being Served?

etc.

What are your favorite Britcoms?

Monty Python, yyeeeeesssss...

Ministry of Silly Walks, Dead Parrot, Confuse-a-cat, Cheese Shop, Upperclass Twit of the Year... good times.

I wasn't too into Mr. Bean, but I love Rowan Atkinson's other work. I heartily recommend the sketch where he plays the devil welcoming new souls into hell.

Is Little Britain an actual british britcom?

If so, i would also count Come fly with me, to my favorites.

If thats not Britcom and just counts as Comedy, i would go with Fawlty Towers.  :fluttershy:

Mr. Bean for sure. I've watched all of the episodes that were ever made, both movies, and a special called "The Best Bits of Mr. Bean" that was essentially a clip show with new footage in-between the clips. I've seen snippets of Black Adder, and various episodes of Faulty Towers, Keeping Up Appearances, Coronation Street, Neighbours, Eastenders, and so on.

Fawlty Towers, Black Adder and Red Dwarf are my all-time faves. I should put in a special mention for Rumpole of the Bailey, though, since that show had a relative of mine playing a secondary character.

I thoroughly enjoy Yes Minister and Yes Prime Minister. They're a little old* (the first came out in 1980), but a lot of it remains funny because the nature of politics hasn't changed - the scenes about helping other nations and who reads the papers are some of my favourite television moments.

*although a Brexit special script was released just before one of the authors died, but it wasn't the same without Nigel Hawthorne as Sir Humphrey.

and how you guys seem to only know the classics.

arent some of the jokes wasted on you lot too because you know that witty British humour and Brit in-jokes.

anyway

the best we have that you guys have missed off

SPACED(my utter fave one of all of them)

Green Wing

The IT Crowd

Black Books

I know theyre pretty modern ones, but you guys already listed off the old school classics.

They are all very important to our way of life here in the UK, you must study them carefully =3

Monty Python is by far my favorite with Mr. Bean and Fawlty Towers tied for second. My favorite British reality show is also a comedy. It's called Nigel Farage speaking in European Parliament. Best show ever.

Fawlty Towers is my personal favorite, with Monty Python's Flying Circus a close second, essentially in a tie.

The Young Ones and Are You Being Served have their moments, but they're not as start-to-finish hilarious to me.

As Paint Goes Dry--I mean, As Time Goes By has got to be one of the least interesting TV programs I've ever watched.
