Where do you think various characters were at/doing in the Crystal wars timeline

So here's a question: what's your headcanon for what various characters in the Show were doing/ were at in the Crystal wars timeline from the s5 finale?
Basically, list any character off the top of your head and your headcanon for what they were doing or where they were at in the crystal wars timeline.

Since Pinkie Pie never got to witness the beauty that is Laughter, she remained on the rock farm until she became an adult, learning the family business and not wanting to be a disappointment to her parents. Because of her skills at breaking down rocks, she was recruited by the Equestrian Army to fight amongst them as a specialist soldier alongside her older sister Maud. Unlike the regular soldiers who are deployed for standard combat, Pinkie doesn't go out into the battlefield unless the need to destroy rocks or other obstacles comes about.

Chrysalis took over the Crystal empire by making a helmet from her throne with the magic inhibition, breaking Sombra's mind control helmets. Celestia allows this since shes now adored by both crystal ponies and changelings.

Sunset Shimmer joined Sombra and became his number 1 apprentice.

Spitfire is overall commander of the Wonderbolt Squadrons and member of Princess Celestia's inner circle

Princess Cadance went missing trying to reclaim the throne of the Crystal Empire, and is currently in hiding.

Twilight Sparkle became a librarian and has tried to find a way to hatch Spike's dragon egg.

Twilight never unlocked her magical talent, and had her confidence shattered. Seemingly a virtually magicless Unicorn, she is unable to do more than the most basic of telekinesis. Due to this she actually was undrafted for the military, as she's seen as essentially disabled and useless for the unicorn Corps: she works as a Janitor at Celestia's castle in Equestria currently.

Nurse redheart is The head of one of the Triage medical camps on the edge of the front lines, and one of the most respected surgeons in the area.

Lightning dust Defected to Sombra's side and Sold out Her squad, which is what ended up Costing Dash her wing. She's one of the few Free willed soldiers on Sombra's side, since Mind controlled soldiers lack the ability to think and adapt for Combat leadership roles, and leads an elite air force on his side.
Ironically mirroring Dash, she lost one of her wings in a Fight with dash, and now has a Black crystal Prosthetic.

Rabia, Sombra's mother, was Released from the Crystal prison underneath the empire by him: However Sombra still Distrusts the Umbra like in the comics, and refuses to allow them all to be released, and has allowed only a few of them out to bolster his forces as specialized support, preferring to win on his own in order to prove to himself his own personal worth, since his Self esteem was a major Driving force for his villainy in the comics.
She constantly weedles and Prods Sombra to release All of the umbra in order to steam roll Equestria with ease, but he continues to refuse and sometimes magically abuses her to put her back in place, with her obviously being His starscream.

Suri is still a struggling fashion designer, having managed to doge the draft into the army and Desperately trying to find a way to succeed in her profession selling her wares to the few Unicorn Nobles who also dodged the draft, but having a hard time for obvious reasons.

Fluttershy would be a medic or a nurse.  Twilight wasn't Celestia's prize student, so I'll go with combat mage.

But we saw Fluttershy in the flashback sheering sheep.

Spitfire's screwups and lapses in ability to judge others and her own moral lapses ended up getting herself and her squad killed in combat due to her being a clod when the chips are down; RD ended up getting promoted to the her position due to being able to salvage her squads situation and avoid getting taken out. So spitfire's dead, along with Fleetfoot and a couple other unnamed wonderbolts.

Discord broke free from his Stone prison, but decided to leave: The war wasn't enticing for him to do his normal chaos type pranking due to being, well, a war and therefore a buzzkill for trolling, but at the same time he didn't want to STOP the war since that'd be helping Celestia since he disliked her and found her being screwed over hilarious. So he was in a Situation where, despite being VASTLY more powerful than either side, he was kind of forced to leave and find better places to prank and screw with.

Chrysalis trapped Cadence below canterlot and also drained Shining armor dry: Without the mane six, Cadence wasn't freed and shining and Cadence didn't save the day: Shining ended up dying, but The Royal guard managed to throw back the invasion and free celestia, with chrysalis being killed in the invasion, so the changelings aren't a major issue at the moment due to being dealt with at great cost.

I am wondering about this little war of theirs. Crystal Empire is but an insignificant inconvenience when compared to the dreadful iron shadow of Angmar.

Random fanfic writer: But-but-but muh Sombrero fanfic!

Shut the buck up, stay awhile and read.

Look at the conveniently-not-to-scale map of Equestria. From east to west we have Baltimare, Fillydelphia, Manehattan, Rainbow Falls, Trottingham, Hollow Shades, Appleloosa, Dodge Junction, Ponyville, Cloudsdale, Canterlot, Vanhoover, Tall Tale, Las Pegasus, and all of them tiny farm villages in between Macintosh Hills and Crystal Mountains.

We can speculate that big cities like Manehattan have a population that is comparable to our own, thus making it roughly around 1, 5-2 million ponies per a big coastal city. We can assume that the draft in Equestria is the same for both males and females, which places their army at around 7 million able-bodied soldiers at very worst. Now compare this to around 200 crystal ponies that have gathered around the Crystal Heart in the Crystal Empire episode. Since show limitations can’t support that many pones, you can even assume that CE has a population of a big pony metropolis which still amounts to around 2 million crystal ponies, foals and old ones included (most of their houses only have two floors by the way). Celestia could literally throw bodies at Sombra and she would still achieve an effortless victory.

Then there is the question of resources. Celestia can fuel her military with food, iron, and gold for years while Sombra doesn’t even have much grass and trees. She can build cannons, airships, equip her soldiers with better barding than some fancy tight suits, erect forts, and hire mercenaries.

Speaking of mercenaries: griffins, minotaurs, diamond dogs, and many other feral fiends like gold and gems. They would undoubtedly lend their savagery to the cause in exchange for filled pockets. One experienced griffin detachment could sustain itself on fallen foes while swiftly sabotaging mining operations all over the cold, dark, mountainous expanses of Frozen North with impunity, a feat that pegasi would be both unable and unwilling to accomplish. And can you imagine a charging phalanx of steel-clad minotaurs or raiding diamond dogs that can ambush unsuspecting enemy regiments from below? Money and land can buy you all kinds of strategic and tactical advantages.

Then there is another way to swiftly end the war: a pact with dragons. We have learned that the Heart originally belonged to them. Since Cadence seems to be out of the picture, there is no benefit for keeping the Empire. Give it to the dragon lords in exchange for their searing wrath. No matter how powerful Sombra is, one single weakling of a dark lord that seems to be too proud for his own good cannot hold against an entire flight motivated by greed and gluttony.

TL; DR: Fantasy wars are awesome. It’s just that pony wars suck big hairy yak sacks. Stay in slice of life or L2P with the big boys. Why yes, that was a misogynist jest! Myaah-yah-yah-yah-yah!

In the Crystal War timeline, Starlight - not Twilight - became Celestia's student after Sunset. She became the leader of an alternate Mane Six comprised of herself, Trixie, Night Glider, Lightning Dust, Suri Polomare and Double Diamond. However, Starlight proved to be just as power-hungry as her predecessor: she betrayed her friends and defected to the Crystal Empire, becoming Sombra's right-hand mare. The name "Starlight Glimmer" is now synonymous with treachery in Equestria.

You must remember In Equestria Sheep Are Sentient.  So, Fluttershy could still be a medic or a vet.  My parents were in WWII & I remember them talking about it. A lot of people who would have been rejected Before The War wound up in the armed forces.  IRL, the USA & other countries started using women troops in noncombat roles + Negroes & other minorities (Japanese troops served with distinction in Italy).

IMO, a lot of Earth Ponies got put on Reserved Occupations like farming.  This means a disproportionate number of Pegasi and Unicorns had to serve.  I've read there are 3-6 noncombatants for every combat soldier.  Twilight was born to be the company clerk

Big Mac might have been in the army.

But, as I've said elsewhere, Nightmare Moon seems to have been defeated which implies some version of The Elements of Harmony were used.

I Honestly think, Chrysalis never attacked the wedding. So Cadence and Shinning lived happily ever after. Until Sombra came back. What if Shinning was forced to fight for Sombra and Cadence was trapped and was tortured. Flurry was born instead of in season 6 but in season 3. Flurry was brought in by Luna and Celestia. Luna served as Cadence and Shinning Armor. When flurry is around 16 she will draft herself to fight against her Father. Which i think would free him. Cadence would be brought into the light forced to serve next to Sombra.

Twilight would most likely be a nurse. Fluttershy would be a vet. Applejack what we saw in the show and pinkie in the show. Rarity would actually die from a bombing bye Sombra army on her warehouse where she worked.

I know my OC  Anastasia from the empire would make it out and be drafted to war and would lose half of her wing and get a scare along her muzzle kinda like rainbowdash

Twilight was obviously nowhere, since she was time traveling. Same with Starlight Glimmer.

The rest of the ponies were enslaved by Sombra, or in a resistance similar to Star Wars.
