general Creepiest/most disturbing person you ever saw on the internet?

What was the most disturbing experience you've ever had with or witnessed involving another person on the internet? For me, two things come to mind...

 

First is a website I heard about. Can't remember the name, but it was one of those "Thinspiration" sites, which basically encourage people to half starve themselves for the sake of losing weight. Including an encouraging community, images of other people who looked like skin and bones to "inspire you" past the hunger, tricks to get thinner... ugh. It unsettles me so much to think of people doing that to themselves... and people ENCOURAGING it instead of helping to shake them out of it.

 

Secondly, a guy in a Youtube comments section. Can't remember the video, but the dude was an extreme religiously person, and he was a huge transphobic. He was mocking "Tumblrinas" and "pretty boys." (aka male to female transitioners) He was talking about how pathetic they were, how depressed they were, and how he loved making their lives as miserable as possible by harassing their Tumblr accounts. He talked about how they did not deserve to live. If I remember right, he boasted about how many he had driven to suicide, and after the comment chain was finished, he announced he was off to go and try to encourage some more to kill themselves. I was extremely disturbed reading this, to say the least. What a true creep in every sense of the freaking word.

I recall a story of a guy who was on a cannibal forum who voluntarily met with another cannibal, then let the other guy kill him and eat him. So creepy cannibal, lets not meet. For your sake.

Chat rooms of schizophrenics and born again christians trolls hallucingenic drug users a pedo a troll a conspiracy theorist(s) etc talking about astral projection, demons, ghosts, fairies, and coercing people into drinking other's blood calling themselves energy vampires. A priest or rabbi or someone from the group talking about flirting with girls(not that its bad, but a rabbi or w/e? it was intense when I was a young plebian) and how churches are super easy money, and he runs one. A lot of toxic behavior, and crazies. (glad i'm into rationality now)

 

Then in the hypnosis ponies community some people were getting manipulated or abused and too much drama went on(like some drug abuser used hypno, let someone be their master, they got them to basically be like an abused dog and do some abusive things. Others were pretending to be for attention too though so its w/e. One person had an ego-death after a 1 on 1 hypnosis with someone on/off in the community and doesn't see it as related though it obviously is. 

 

Then some comments under youtube videos to a lesser extent though of standard abusive language. And people who for the love of all that is pony, cannot see a contradiction when its shown before them repeatedly, then others leap to their defense, such intellectual disingenuity. From Christians and Muslims, and it is disgusting because it shows the lengths they would go to to defend a harmful doctrine and how crazy they are. Or like a video on youtube some kid screaming at his atheist mother that she is going to hell, kid is totally brainwashed, its basically abuse. 

 

Then how there are honor killings against atheist family members in some muslim communities, beatings, and against those who have premarital relations or appear to.

There was this facebook post immediately after the election where some guy was ranting about how he wanted horrible deaths for Trump supporters and how he was going to celebrate every bad thing that happened to America after the election. It sounded like a terrorist's manifesto, and the fact that he was ostensibly on my side just made it worse.

I don't think there's any one instance that stands out from the rest, and I am glad to have not encountered any situation extreme enough to warrant barring my windows shut and putting three locks on each door. Over the years, it's basically just been issues of harassment (either to me, or I've witnessed it happening to others), and being met with some very "unusual" requests from shady individuals. I don't plan on ever visiting the truly dark sites, but I've definitely heard creepy stories from others who have!

Back when I was a teenager there were certainly a few adult men who were a bit too friendly with me. It's super creepy thinking back on it. Especially since I was a little too open on some personal details that I for some reason didn't think were a big deal, like which high school marching band I was a part of. o.o Oops.

 

There was also one time where someone posted an image of which's nature was incredibly disturbing. Anyone who would post that content would have to be really disturbed. I don't care what anyone says. They may have thought it was funny that they were posting it to disturb people, but what people find funny says a lot about them.

Far too much to count... most of it involves different online games and the like. But I have learned that for the most part you can avoid it if you really want to, so that is what I do. Disturbing, gross and trollish individuals are not going anywhere anytime soon, so by just ignoring them and staying off their abysmal websites works for me just fine.

ive been part of the furry fandom and my first boyfriend was a 4chan obsessed "troll", so nothing really creeps me out anymore on the net, though had one nut job scare me enough that i had a panic attack when I saw him at a con. 

Wonder if anyones heard of chuckybb/mistydash. I denied him access to attend a camping meet weekedn i organised and he started making death threats at me. First one was caught by a friend of mine whilst he was in a group skype convo with mistydash in it, he overheard how he planned ways to get back at me and maime me.... O.O then i got it again on Deviantart and tumblr. the guy is a nut job. he wasnt banned form UKponycon, even after warning the staff of this stuff, they put my vendor table in the same room as him until i had a panic attack and my friend asked the staff if we could be moved away from him into the main room. and we were. 

Im not sure if he knows what i look like irl, as hes never come round to my table when looking around anyway at any of the cons ive seen him at. 

 

Normally id shrug off any attempt at trolling with death threats, but the guy is a known mental case and he kept doing it through the year, not just to me but a fair number of others, I was actually scared. things are different now, i have a lot of people behind me.

I was once associated with a group that took cosplay to an extreme, and I won't deny that I dabbled in it myself for a time because something about it appealed to me. I stopped back in early 2013 due to no longer being able to accept that form of cosplay as being appropriate for what it was, and not once have I had any second-thoughts. I consider it to be one of the more embarrassing aspects of my life.
