What lesson has G4 taught you?

I've learned that friendship is something that should be treated like it's more important than a diamond. If you aren't careful you can be caught in a deep, dark ditch.

south park AND undertale. WIN WIN BABY(oops derailing the thread.)

Oh yeah...The Ski Teacher. It's been a long time since I've seen South Park, cause the channel it played on was taken off of my T.V.

Don't judge a book by it's cover.

For instance, this show perhaps is the best example of that. I never though a show targeted for 3-12 year old girls can be so good and yet here I am. That's the foremost first lesson that always seemed to latch upon me in everytime I watch MLP:FiM.

I wouldn't say that it has taught me anything; these lessons are mostly things I've heard before. However, the show has opened the door to me actually learning to APPLY these ideas.

My biggest example is that before I joined the fandom in 2014, I was extremely homophobic. Now, I have lesbian-horse-senpai.

Oh yeah, and I'm not a COMPLETE a**hole. I'm still a half-a**!

Not to worry about prophecy and future events too much? That's an incredibly valuable lesson for me. Because my relatives are religiously obsessed with some ancient freemason texts auguring the return of little g. No, that is not a rapper. It is Luci. But, yeah. Do not mix mental illness and religion. Not a good combo.

In The Ending of the End - Part 2, Applejack said: "You want the truth, Twilight? Bad things happen. No matter what you do, there's never gonna be a time when everything's perfect. But that don't mean you quit trying."

Those words had the biggest impact on me. It's like she was talking to me. It gave me such goosebumbs! Since then, no matter how grim things are, I keep moving forward. Life doesn't need to be "perfect", but it's my choice to smile and to keep trying, to keep moving forward. :kindness:

*hugs Applejack* :mlp_yeehaa:

Shadow Play told me not to push people away if they are going to be good people in your life. Helped me be more at peace with my parents dating other people since I was against it for a long time.

Putting Your Hoof Down taught me that assertiveness takes time and lots of growth to truly master.

Friendship Games (I know it’s a movie but I’m counting it) taught me that not everything can be understood and it doesn’t need to be. I know Pinkie Sense covered this topic much sooner, but unlike in that episode, the movie showed Twilight suffering dire consequences for getting into something she shouldn’t, which solidified the message more for me. Pony Twilight’s only real consequence was possibly losing some social credit for being the only one to not trust Pinkie Sense. I’d say the worst thing to happen would be that she would lose Pinkie as a friend, but Pinkie would probably never leave her over something like that.
