@@Shadow Dancer,

You probably don't have a sheet for your human, well if you do please link, if you don't can you write most of his info here and his intro to Starfleet use Raven's and Reaper's posts as an example. Please do provide some RP's from me to look over.

Since your the only one applying for security head, all you need do is jump through my hoops and you have yourself a place Shadow.

some more info, for the ponies and other Anthro's if we gain any, now or in the future. It's this style.

Obviously these are just examples of body types, essentially there is still some animal in them for this RP.

He seems ok, but you can't keep your weapons, this is Starfleet so no personal equipment, you can have it in your room but your not gonna have it on you most of the time, bar that he seems ok enough. But I do need some RP examples.

@@Shadow Dancer,

Your posts seem fine enough, but all I ask is you try to keep your use of shadow magic down to a minimum, maybe when the crew are relaxing or something along those lines.

All I need from you now is a few short paragraphs about your time in this universe and I'll welcome you aboard.

( I can do that)

Personal log, star date 41363.37,

I have served as Security for many Federation ships over many missions and many years. Apparently I have caught enough eyes to be offered the position of Head of Security of a new Federation Ship the USS Luna. I accepted of course, seeing the opportunity as a great sign of my skills being recognized. Well I hope that our ensign casualty rate is never as bad as the USS Enterprise. From what I hear they send the most undisciplined ensigns there in hopes they get a better attitude or they cease to be an issue altogether.

Anyway I digress, thinking back on where I started an ensign fresh out of the academy after studying for preforming security duties. I was quite excited to see new planets and civilizations to see things that some would never see in their lives. Well I got my wish and more. I found out the dangers of the Borg first hand fought off Klingon raiders and got to rescue a few civilians as well. When I found out the Enterprise discovered there was a race of bipedal talking ponies (I think an Ensign died from a manticore) I almost laughed myself off the deck of the USS Valkyrie then I started to see them and indeed it was true. There were also many animals and other races pulled strait from human myths. Now being offered to be Head of Security of the first Pony captained ship now that is something I would not pass up. My future will be quite interesting as I think the crew will be mostly ponies and other Equestrian races with a few fellow humans here and there. Well better get onto the boarding vessel.

End Personal Log.

Also, though I am giving us a week before we start and we may get quite slow over the end of year maddness, if we don't find a helmsman I'll pick up that role with another of my own OC's

Hmm,  maybe we could use that recruitment week to hash out some more details? See, there isn't much about this starship class online, aside from armament and one odd mention of 500 crew strength. So I figured that, since it's meant as an experimental vessel, we could agree on stuff that isn't presented elsewhere, like the number of stations on the bridge.

Crystal will be spending a lot of time in the main Engineering and I have an idea how it would look like, and that there should be 2 auxiliary ones near the pylons. If the 500 crew is correct,  she would need around 50 yellow shirts in her department, to man the consoles and still have at least one repair team of 10 souls. Plus one assistant chief engineer. BTW are we supposed to roleplay our OC's underlings?

I am also working on a fuller back story and will modify the one I already provided.

Honestly I chose the Avenger because it looked cool more than anything, personally I wanted this to a smaller ship, I know this class of ship has a crew of 500 but I wanted a much smaller compliment something more towards only 100. We could simply look for small Starfleet ships and use the interior of that ship and the exterior of the Avenger, cose it looks cool...  :orly: .

But yes us all fleshing this out more is an excellent idea, and I welcome all input, I only have a core concept but yeah nothing major yet, I'm gonna start looking at smaller ships with interior layouts or even pictures we can use to all help us understand the scenes better.

for instance a model similar to the Voyager, that's small, similar shape to the Avenger (Luna), and there are a ton of photos and interior specs?

Alright, I'll keep an eye out for cool pics to let us get a better idea of our mighty vessel. I saw some cool internal schematics.

Making the prototype a smaller, escort type vessel would be reasonable from any standpoint, so we're in the clear. 100 crew is also a good idea, making it a frigate at best, so while it will limit your story options, at least at first, it'll be easier to manage with just a few players. Engineering would have 1 aux generator and 30 yellow shirts total, including chief and her assistant.

I'll check out the Voyager but using a well documented vessel as Base is a very good idea.

I love those pictures I do say, heck we can cut and paste our favorite parts for the lols, also with it being a "advanced prototype" We can possibly do things past our frigate capabilities, but I don't plan on crazy shit so it's not too much of a concern.

But very nice find though! ^^

My thoughts exactly - take a picture and say that this and that looks different, and you're all set! No lengthy descriptions of how many steps there are between the door and consoles... While I'm satisfied with the Auxiliary Engineering, I'll look for a better main one, and surely change a few things in Crystals office.

Those homing dual function misses are a punch above the weight class already, so improved manoeuvrability or shields will set us above other vessels of this size,  no need to go too big on fancy stuff, unless you want to.

Crew distribution and the issue of controlling the NPC's of our departments are still waiting for closure,  but I guess other departments should also state how many underlings they need to function.

I will allow our other two officers to state what they desire and bring this talk to a close for now at least, but in terms of underlings, I'll give everyone control of a few ensigns for the sake of post quality, these almost unnamed persons can be your other OC's or made up they'll bulk up away missions and the such as I thinks, otherwise the others will be there to make the ship seem full and will be under my command as DM.

ship wise I'm thinking

30 golds engineering

30 blues for science and medical

30 golds security

10 reds for command

makes a neat 100

Or perhaps.

Security Log, Star date 41363.37

The crew resupplied on a nearby Class Y planet, ood that it has been classed as a 'demon' planet, has breathable atmosphere and sensors detect large numbers of indigenous ponies, though its predicted they are below warp capability, interaction is going to be impossible unless by breaking the prime directive. We have scanned the area and found large deposits of large dilithium crystals. After a successful haul, cargo-bay one and two were filled to capacity. This should allow our warp drives to continue for another few months before needing additional resupplying. The sensors continued to pick up some sort of lifeforms around the mining site, though no visual was detected. This can be down to a sensor malfunction, will be continuing to run system wide diagnostics to determine if any ship failures are detected within the sensor relays.

Security Log, Star date 41363.37 Supplemental.

The sensors were working perfectly, there is a reason why this planet has been classed as Y. The indigenous ponies have some sort of contagious diseases. Already some of the crew have been infected are quarantined in sickbay. The captain has ordered one of these being to be captured in a attempted of having a cure found. We have decided on using a force field to lure one in, we have one in mind, she doesn't seem as hostile as the other, some possible restriction on the contagion perhaps. Though i'm not a doctor, i'm head of security. We are going to leave now, to capture this being.

Security Log, Star date 41363.37 Supplemental, Supplemental.

The rest of the crew has been cured, the mare in question with a odd three blood drop cutiemark had some sort of anti contagion within her blood supply. Which prevented her from being hostile, the later part of the contagion. She however has been difficult to teleport back to the surface, a solar storm has prevented any teleportation attempt and using shuttle craft is too dangerous. Since she isn't hostile, the captain has allowed her free reign of the ship. Security logs are currently showing her not grasping the use of a door, I think she wants to enter here. *sigh* I will go and open the door for her.

@@BloodDrops,

I'd direct you to my own original post here...

Equestria is brought into the Federation of Planets star date 41359.37 after the technological advancement of the nations of Equestria lead to the successes of warp travel a decade earlier. As the ponies, gryphons, changelings and many others of the planet of Equestria joined the Federation, the planet became a hub of commerce and trade in that sector.

Ponies kinda... um well yeah I don't know where your going with that Blood.

I sense demonic posession into zombie like creatures, leading a colony of ponies into disarray, losing contact with the rest of Galaxy and any traces of tech savvy, captain.

Hey, maybe Blood would be interested in playing a slightly crazy, needle happy Chief Medic and boss of science branch? I mean, who doesn't like a mad sciencist? Except for his patients of course...

I would like to apply for the post of helmsman with Misty Flight.

RP references:

Whisper - City of Darkness. Originally run by another GM, I took over after they had to stop, and it ran for just over a year before it finally petered out.

The Dark MillenniumA fairly short-lived RP (lost GM once again) but I am quite pleased with the character I played in it (she was the template for Misty Flight.) For how I RP as opposed to GM, this is the best example.

Although you can't check this, I have also run and played in numerous tabletop RPGs, albeit no Star Trek ones. Plenty of sci-fi though.

Even though it was explicitly stated as not an issue, I should also add the caveat that I don't know much about Star Trek beyond the more recent films (Star Trek and Into Darkness.)

Duly updated. I've also been reading up on Star Trek, so I'm not too worried about my lack of knowledge (I merely felt obliged to mention it.)

A few questions, if I may:

How frequent will the posts be? Will we be running to any sort of schedule, or as as-fits approach? How many infinitives will you split in the introductory post?

Oh I have something in mind for the opening scene so not to worry about that.

In terms of posts, I was thinking this be a more detailed slower RP over a quick thing, so 3-7 posts a week or something, I mean I'd like to go for quality over mass, not to mention the way I'm thinking this will go it will have to be like that, but we'll see if we all pump out posts so be it.
