Why are some more excited for EQG specials as opposed to season 7 or the film?

I haven't noticed anyone being more excited about EQG specials than the other two, but I have some theories why.

The movie is still like 8 months away and there hasn't been any recent info released (there hasn't been an estimate for EQG specials) and season 7 was practically inevitable. Almost no one doubted it would happen.

That's all I could think about.

I'm excited for all three!

I haven't really noticed excitement towards one or the other. The reason there are a lot of people looking forward to EQG is because there is a fanbase. Not everyone likes the movies but there is still a following. Personally, I'm more excited for the new season and movie. I am not as big of a fan of EQG.

I never liked Equestria Girls. The movie and Season Seven are definitely what I'm looking forward to.

Yeah personally I can't wait for the movie.

I still excited for Season 7, Equestria Girls specials and The Movie!

Yeah me to. But especially the movie.

im actually excited for season 7 :P (and the movie)

I am as well. All for life. I mean 'LL for life. I meant MLP for life.

I'm looking forward to all of it! But I'm nervous that this could mean MLP FIM is slowly wrapping up...

I thought that at first to. That the most we would get is a season eight in 2018. But the point of the feature film is to bring MLP to a larger audience. Why would they end it after that?

I just noticed some people on a topic called EGQ specials 2017 saying that they liked EQG more than the current seasons.

Well I like EQG. But the best thing next year I think is the feature film.

Title says it all. Personally I am looking forward to the feature film more.

Possibly because that there's barely any info about the movie, and you kinda have to move out of your way to even know it's existence

I thought Season 6 kinda sucked so I can't say I'm excited for S7 very much, on the other hand I am interested to see where the EQG series is going, I liked the direction FOE seems to have taken it

I don't know where you're getting the whole "no hype for the movie" thing though, that seems to have the most amount of hype yet

Maybe for those people they could mess up a lot less with specials because they're shorter.

Yeah I guess that's actually true.

Yeah I didn't think about that.

On the EQG thread people said they where more excited for specials.

Hello, @@TheImmortalLegendG

Just so you are aware, I have gone ahead and altered this thread's title to give it a bit more proper context.

Thank you.

Thank you changing that for me.

Season 6 of FIM didn't really bring a lot things that were actually new to the table, and kind of felt like the series was going through the motions.

The ending at least of LoE, on the other hand, has this spin off series finally finding out what it wants to be, and that there is still a lot of potential and story telling possibilities going forward.

I'm excited for the movie  :D and my hype for the movie overshadows my hype for season 7, specially since it hasn't been long since season 6 ended. I thought season 6 was great and all, but I prefer to have things distributed in instead of them being all thrown at once, and with the EqG movies airing in the middle of the seasons and how short the hiatuses are getting compared to the one between season 4 and 5 I can't be as excited as I'd like to be about everything. Next year we're getting the specials, the seasons, and the movie. That's a lot to look forward to  and I'm not particularly excited about the EqG specials, I was already losing interest and I thought LoE was kind of disappointing.

Well me and slot of others think season 6 was one of the best so far. But I do think Legend of Everfree was the best EQG movie yet.

Yeah I agree. I'm really excited for the movie and new season. Though personally I thought Legend Of Everfree was the best EQG movie so far.

Even though there is a lot that I like about Equestria Girls, I still prefer Friendship is Magic over it and I am definitely more hyped for season 7 and the upcoming movie.

Yeah I feel the same way. L

I have hopes for the Equestria Girls specials, but after LoE I'm not as excited for that leg of the franchise anymore. The movie is probably gonna be closer to a two-parter, and those aren't my favourite episodes anymore, plus, as a sort of movie buff, I'm a bit worried about how well it'll play with general audiences. Season 7, though? Full hype ahead. Liked season 6 a fair bit and I think the show's finally going in a satisfying direction for the first time in years, so I am all sorts of excited to see where it goes.

I haven't seen anything like that myself but I am probably more excited about Equestria Girls than both season seven and the movie.

I actually really like Equestria Girls, and I think Sunset shimmer deserves a Celestia danged spin-off series.

And these specials could be really cool and be hints for an upcoming series, or it could be them testing the waters for a spin-off series.

I really want that spin-off series...  :(

Anyways, with that said, I am still looking forward to season 7 more.

I'm not really anywhere as far as the movie is concerned. I know I'll watch it but I don't have any strong feelings over it.

Why are you more excited for EQG?

It's how I got into the fandom in the first place, and to be fair it appeals to me more than the show does. Granted, the show still appeals to me and I look forward to seeing what happens in Equestria next, yet the human world beckons me more because it relates to me on a different level.

I hate the 4th EQG, it is the worst EQG, but still i am waiting for EQG shorts, it should be interesting. The reasons i am exciting for them are because i am still love EQG, one bad apple cant hurt my interests... that bad, i just take them away.

About season 7, the answers are simple, people dont like the ss6 finale or the season itself, they consider the staff shows sign of lacking direction or there are direction, but people dont like it at all. Many people hate Starlight and they feel like she wont go away anytime soon. The LOE end credit is what hook people for the next EQG even they dont like the movie that much but for people who are tiring of season 6, it is a relief that there is still aomething promising.

For me, season 7 and movie are my top priority. I am less invested to EQG franchise after LOE, i wanted to watch LOE so badly in the past and that what happen to me. I'm saving my fuel for my ss7 hype train, any of its infomations will accelerate my train, just a little animatic will help.
