Besides of an banned user here I had met in real and more in an coincidence a school guy by my practical experience who was there for few weeks are the only bronies I ever had met in reality. Never saw somepony with something MLP Related(Except a little girl with a Dashie school bag, but well, if just liking it or a fan, dunno, probably 6 years old or so XD)

I saw my first brony around 2011/2012. I was at my card shop and I saw my two friends with pony merchandise while talking about it at times while playing card games. They were also listening to some of the music from the show.

To be honest, the first time I met one was at Bronycon. I don't know, I usually make it fairly obvious I'm a brony by comparison, so it should logically be other bronies meeting me.

Bad luck I guess.

I've never met another Brony out in the "real world."

Not sure how I respond. With my luck, the first Brony I'd meet would be one of the squicky fans that we don't like to talk about.

  • 2 weeks later...

I was at my first con staying with a friend and some of her friends. One of said friends started talking about fandoms she was in or something and turned to me and asked "Do you watch My Little Pony?"

And I was like  :o

......

:pinkie:

It was so exciting to not feel like a total weirdo for liking a little kids' show. Since then I've made lots of pony-loving friends, and converted my fair share of them as well ;)

Well the friend who introduced me to the show at school was a brony, and he was a great guy ^_^ I never suspected he had a bunch of pony songs on his PSP, but when he told me to listen with him I was astonished :o

In high school there was a guy who was bullied, even beaten for wearing that typical RD patterned t-shirt(I didn't recognized it cuz I was far from being a brony, I didn't even know that's a thing). I didn't understand back then why did he wear something like that( in turn he was fully aware of the fact that people in that scool is not very tolerant, hell, you were bullied even for wearing anything nerdy). He was a bit weird, at least I thought that but seemed a nice guy. Once after school me and my friend witnessed that this guy was physically abused by some ***holes not far from the school while shouting inappropriate words about his sexuality... . It's hideous when somebody hurt the weaker...not to menation they were exceeded in number. I hated that school, people there didn't pay attention situations like this, even teachers were good with it until they saw one with their own eyes. Those guys were the worst kind of people so they have deserved what they have got. So we escorted this guy to the bus-stop, and suggested that he shouldn't wear anything which makes him a target. He didn't tell us anything so it didn't turn out he was a brony, but I noted his t-shirt, it was strange for me that a guy could wear a rainbow patterned cloth and maybe I was a bit prejudiced too. After that I have seen this guy a few times again, but shortly he disappeared, probably attended to another school. When I have been searching the first time about mlp I have seen that pattern and this guy came into my mind. I guess this was the first time, encountering a brony.

I have two other friends who were bronies back when the show first started, but have since dropped out of the fandom. I was wearing my Doctor Whooves shirt one day at the airport when a middle-aged lady came up to me and told me she loved my shirt. That's about the only brony interaction I've had.

Only met one brony in the wild, and that was a few weeks ago. Some teenager with a skateboard was wearing a "20% cooler" tshirt, and I asked him if he was wearing it ironically, or because he was a fan. He replied that he was a fan. Not a very interesting story... wish there were more of us visible in the wild.

When I met my first fellow brony I was just overjoyed that I wasn't the only brony in my area because most people here don't get on the parts of the internet (deep into it) where you'd find My Little Pony.

If I recall the first Brony I met was an employee at Walmart. He had a Fluttershy lanyard and multiple other pony things on that. Then he proceeded to show off all of his pony stuff on his phone, it was pretty cool. Then we started discussing ponies for a while. All in the electronics section. :P

There are actually a lot of bronies around my age that live in my town. It's hard to go to my school and NOT see someone wearing something related to it to be honest and the first time I actually had a conversation with one of them was quite a while ago now that I think about it.

I believe there's a similar topic somewhere but yeah, I have. Once when I was at the cinema/theatres, I was gonna watch The Avengers with my friends and there were two guys in front of us who talked about Discord. A few other times as well but those times I've just seen people wearing pony t-shirts, I didn't really say anything

That's like when I saw Ted 2 and a Pinkie Pie doll was on screen some guy shouted at the screen, "Pinkie Pie!", and I turned to him and said, "Yeah, you know it!" It was pretty awesome.

I have a few times yeah. Mostly at places like Walmart and such. One time I met someone that was working in the electronics section and he was decked out with pony stuff, that was neat. I don't get out a lot so it is hard to randomly meet new people like that.

There was a person in art class who was drawing ponies. She caught me looking at the drawing (which was really good btw) and hid it. I bet she thought I was silently judging her, which totally wasn't the case. Later on, my friend noticed she was playing the MLP game on her phone and called her out on it. When he walked away, I asked her "Are you excited for the new episodes?" (this was before season 5 started). She smiled and nodded, and that was it.

I wish we talked more or even became friends, but she was a shy girl so I didn't really want to bother her. It was still a nice experience to meet another brony.

A guy at the front of my class had a desktop with pony silhouettes and the words, "Band of Bronies". I walked up to him after class and "randomly" met him.

Someone wore a pony shirt, and I went up to tell them how awesome it was.

Gave another shout-out..thing to another pony shirted pedestrian. Huh, I've randomly engaged a few people on this.

Oh! I met the voice actor for Scootaloo in Friendship is Witchcraft :)

They noticed Twilight's cutie mark on my computer and we started talking.
