I want to see a prequel

Specifically one that follows the life of Sunset Shimmer, how she betrayed Celestia, and how this alternate universe was created (or perhaps accessed).

The comic, "The Fall of Sunset Shimmer" does provide her backstory although it was only an eight page special. If anything, it focused on her final days as Celestia's student--complete with a cameo from Twilight--before going through the portal and entering the human world. Perhaps another comic or even one of this year's specials could show us Sunset's childhood and explain why she was never close to her family.

Still, despite the fact those exist, I too would like Rebecca and Nicole to come in and do a prequel.

 

Sunset learning what fingers and toes are, clothing, technology, would be entirely awesome since she'd still be evil at the time.

 

I've proposed we do this in flashbacks in the series, but I doubt anyone read that
