My favorite movie is a non-disney animated movie: Spirit Stallion of the Cimarron. There are so many good ones from Studio Ghibli and Dreamworks (Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away, My Neighbor Totoro ; Road to El Dorado, Shrek, How to Train Your Dragon > to mention a few).
Gotta say the best non-disney animated movie (my opinion alright?) has to be Prince of Egypt. The music is better than most Disney musicals (Moana included in my opinion...).

I have to go with The Lego movie. One of the best animated movies I have ever seen in general.

Well im gonna go by animators and studios than actual titles.

But i advise that everyone should watch Dreamworks' early 2D animation. Dont go as far as Sinbad, thats when they dropped the standards and were focusing on Shrek. 

 

Don Bluth has some amazing films for you, but some... truely terrible ones too... I suggest you stick with American Tail, All Dogs, Land

before time, NIMH, Anastasia and Titan AE. The rest are really not worth it.

 

Warner Brothers had a great Animation front during the 90s, so check them out too. Iron Giant being their crowning achievement. 

 

And for the on offs/underdogs of animation (and a little bit darker);

 

Charlotte's Webb (not the CG remake)
