Cake or Pie? Which is better?

Which is the best dessert? Cake or pie?

I'd like me some lemon pie, or mascarpone cheesecake right now, with strong coffee.

A difficult choice... I'm gonna say pie, out of principle. Even though I'm gonna do both later.

    Well, Pie is sweet, a bit more open, a little less crusty and generally a more fruity taste. Cake on the other hand is made from much more thicker material, is just as much, if not sweeter, has much more room for colorful decoration and a bit more stable. Especially on account of her having to raise twins!

   Aye, I'd pick Mrs. Cake over Miss Pie!

 Nope! Still cake! Get more sugar & content with a cake when pie is pretty much just a pile of fillings!

As my two favorite desserts are Triple Chocolate Fudge Cake and Red Velvet Cake (no crushed nuts on the frosting please!)... take a wild guess.  :-P

Cake cannot be topped! From the glorious chocolate cake, to the wonderful icing on top, it is incredible. But wait there's more! Cake art, that stuff is cool too. Pies don't allow for as much creative freedom.

Cake with whipped frosting is the best. Generally pie isn't my favorite. We used to go to a restaurant that made custard pie, and I really liked it. Chocolate creme pie can be good, too, but not as good as cake with whipped frosting.

Not sure. While I'd kill for some cake, in my experience you'd have more chances of running to a badly made or dull cake, but that's also due they lose their freshness faster than pie. Pie on the other hand, keep their freshness for longer..... I dunno, I've lost my fondness of candy long ago, but in turn, cakes, pies, and sweets pastries in general, are to die for

For me, I will have to choose *Flips a coin* pie. Blueberry is my top favorite and I like it cold with ice cream. Then whipped cream on top. No cherries. 

 

@ Blood Drops:  By the way there is a pie that is made out of blood. (Cows or pigs)

I say cake.

 

You can make cakes as extravagant as you want them to be. Hell, there is a Cake Boss. You can also stack layers as high as you want. With pie, you have the crust, filling, and topping. If you add another layer, it basically becomes a cake.

 

The only thing pie will always have over cake is the pie chart. "Cake chart" makes no logical sense.

Lets see hmm.. oh  I got it. *spins wheel* .... *lands on cake* Alright then cake, I like the dark chocolate kind and that has whipped icing on it. Not too much though. 

 

Oh and with ice cream right in the middle like a blanket. Very cold is the way I like it. ^^

  Well, technically I don't think there's any cheese in cheesecake. Basically, I think Pie essentially is filling poured into some matter of crust and it baked with most of its contents open to the air on top. So even if cheesecake had cheese, its more pie then cake.

 

@@BloodDrops,   Well, there IS Blood Pudding, which is exactly what you think it is... sausage. Then there's head cheese...

  Then there's Haggis which is pretty much just entrails cooked to fit whatever ya put it in... Ooh, Shepherd's Pie! Made from 100% genuine shepherds!

  And of course Mincemeat pie...which... I'm not sure if it actually has minced meat in it.

    Really want some pie now... Can I change my vote?!!?
