I see posts that say who AREN'T coming back this season, so how about a post about who IS coming back? Berrow is coming back with TWO new episodes next season, and the Fox bros is coming back for more episodes too, but their amount is unconfirmed at this time. Also old news: Nick Confalone is coming back with just one episode, which is nice hearing that he's coming back, but I was hoping he'd make more.

So these three are confirmed coming back! I'm sure we'll have other returning writers too like Kevin and Chris, the ones who made Times Are Changeling, and Viva LP; and I'm sure the Lady Writers are coming back, Kristine and Joanna, the ones who made Rarity Investigates, Gauntlet of Fire, Legend of Everfree, and others!

Knowing G.M. Berrow I'm sure she's making a Pinkie episode for us, since she's a huge Pinkie fan! The other one... I dunno, I'll have to guess either a Rainbow episode or a Twilight episode. The Fox bros, every episode they made has Rarity doing something, but hopefully they'll slow down on her a bit. Nick... I really hope he makes a CMC episode! I wanna see how he handles them!

Would have hoped for more from Confalone, given that his comedic writing is some of my favourite in the show's recent seasons, but it'll be interesting to see what he does regardless. The Fox bros. I'm less excited about, although I have hope that they can again write something as phenomenal as "The Gift of the Maud Pie," and G.M. Berrow... well, I haven't read those chapter books, so maybe her one episode was just a bad representation. Certainly wouldn't want anything else quite like that.

The Fox brothers retuning gives me the most neutral feeling in the world. Gift of Maud Pie was great, but PPOV WAS...passable while AJ's Day Off was a steaming pile. I'm welcome to GM, TOWPK isn't the greatest episode but it's inoffensive and I do fell she "gets it" more than the other writers.

Generally speaking I don't have much of a problem with the other writers returning or not, just as long Dusedau, Rapp and D Marco are gone

I don't really know how to feel about this.

Berrow only really wrote the One Where Pinkie Knows, which I found to be kinda boring,

and The Fox brothers have written The Gift of the Maud Pie, which I found to be entertaining, Applejack's Day Off, which is the most boring episode in the entire series, and Pony Point of View, which I thought was okay.

It's not that I hate their works, not even ADO (but still not an episode I wanna rewatch), I don't feel super confident in having them on board for the show, as say having Mccarthy, or Larson, or Rogers writing for FIM.

If there is anyone I am hoping returns for the next season, than it would be Nick Confalone as No Second Prances and Saddle Row Review are two of my favorites from season 6, and the team of Lewis and Songco for their work on Gauntlet of Fire, and Legend of Everfree.

Nick is confirmed coming back! But unfortunately, only one episode.

Personally, I'm most curious about Rapp and Burke/Wyatt. I'm apparently one of Dave Rapp's biggest fans, because I think all three of his episodes have at least some interesting qualities. Someone teach him how to write good humour, or maybe give him an excuse to write a villain (would like to see him pull out his Zephyr Breeze tricks on that), and we'd have something really great. Burke/Wyatt, on the other hand, are pretty consistently entertaining, even if the writing quality has a direct downwards slope across their episodes. Even "P.P.O.V.," which has some particularly poor writing in some areas, is at least pretty funny. Would've also said Confalone, but he's only got one, and I guess I wouldn't mind Lewis/Songco back, as long as they're in "Top Bolt" mode and not "Legend of Everfree" mode. At this point, I don't trust them with the main characters, even with as good as "Rarity Investigates!" and "The Hooffields & McColts" are. They're the biggest source of blandly heroic stagnation.

I'm excited that G.M. Berrow is returning, especially in light of her recent chapter books. I think the Fox Brothers can write good episodes, although they certainly have black marks on their record.

To be fair, Applejack's Day Off wasn't entirely the Fox Brother's fault. I believe Dusedau was at least partially responsible.

Dusedau only has a story credit, so unless he was guiding behind the scenes, he's only really to blame for the repetition and maybe for the Rainbow Dash nonsense, as I really don't think there's anything wrong with how Applejack acted at the end. Fox brothers could easily have added more jokes to make the episode more exciting, so they're at least half to blame for how boring it is - the other half of the blame would go to the animators, who filled the backgrounds with absolutely nothing worth noticing. The episode does stick out among "The Gift of the Maud Pie" and "P.P.O.V.," however, as even the latter is at least pretty funny at times.

She will get 2 episodes

I want one of them to focus on Glimmy & Fluttershy creating a stronger bond with each other
