animation The Magic School Bus

My uncle texted me this morning, saying that a great kids show from the 90's, the Magic School Bus is being put up on Netflix, so I thought I'd make a nostalgia thread for it.

Anypony else remember riding along with Mrs Frizzle back in the day? Heck, even a few celebrities have shared a ride with her, such as Dom DeLuise, Matt Frewer, Wynonna Judd, Robby Benson, and legendary Miami Dolphins quarterback Dan Marino.

Oh aye, lotta nostalgia there. I used to be told all the time in school that I looked so much like Arnold. Can't say I disagree with his outlook on adventure either, lol!

Really? Dom DeLuise was on it? Geez, Dom! Poor guy has been in everything from Sliders to Magic Schoolbus to the biggest shlock out there! He's a great actor, but I keep getting the feeling he's never really cared for acting beyond a paycheck!

I merely watched it out of curiosity though I can't say that it was the best show out there. Some episodes actually did stand out as really well done though others were cringe-worthy at best.

Yeah, Dom voiced the baker in that episode where the bus went in the oven. Edited by Starlight Flyer

ya idk when they added it in but it has been for a little while and there is all 4 seasons.

I tell ya, I'm making a list of episodes to rewatch when I get back home for Spring Break.

So far I got the one with the Ferris Wheel and the one where Mrs Frizzle goes to court. Those were the funniest in my opinion.

I remember watching it on Discovery Kids and TLC, usually as part of Ready Set Learn, but if my memory serves me right, I think it aired on regular DK as well. It's been years since I've last seen it, so I don't know how I'd feel about it now, but now that I know it's on Netflix (admittedly, I don't browse around it much just to see what they have), maybe I'll check it out sometime.

I was a huge fan of the Magic School Bus when I was a kid. I think it was on TVO. I remember really enjoying the sound museum episode where they were in the haunted house and seeing sound waves eminating everywhere. Really though, there were a lot of gems. Another few favourites of mine were the recycling christmas special, the spider episode where they go inside a silent movie and of course the dinosaur episode. Then there was the episode with Mr. Junkit, that was pretty great too...

It intrigued me as a kid for its sheer oddness, as most cartoons did, which is perfect because it kept me entertained. I'd be playing with my army men and suddenly the a show starts that looks very odd and I'd be mesmerised by it, I swear, it was so much easier to get hypnotised as a kid than a adult. But that's what made a good cartoon for children, its ability to capture you in the moment without you realising hours went by watching this.

Even after all this time, I'm still so done with Carlos's damn puns.

Let alone the kids' favorite word "Carrrrrrlos" 10x per episode.
