Will scootaloo get her wings in season 7

I'd prefer it if she stays flightless because not everyone is able-bodied and that shouldn't be a reason to look down on them, Scootaloo shows how people/ponies can still achieve things without being 'perfect'. I think that this 'flaw' makes her the character she is, it would be weird to suddenly have her learn to fly after it has been implied in the past that she is incapable of flying.

 

If she does I won't mind, maybe it just takes longer for her to learn things like flight.

I used to be in favor of it but I think it is kind of nice for people who don't have the ability to do something well to relate to! And she seems happy without them in any case :)

 

Part of what I really like about Scootaloo is that she is relatable to those who are disabled in some way. I don't like the idea of treating her as if her flightlessness is something "wrong" with her. Rather, it has shaped her personality and made her more interesting. Otherwise, she would just be a Mary Sue.

I am fine with either one.

 

She does not need to fly to be an interesting character to me, but on the other hand I don't think she needs to be held back to be interesting either.

 

It has never been stated she will never fly.... nor that she is disabled in any way. She is a late bloomer when it comes to flying and since I have no idea what it takes to be able to fly I cannot realistically say whether she will or not. I do not think it will be addressed in S7 though either way.

How in the world would she be a Mary Sue? Or is that just the go to phrase for any character that does anything someone does not like?

For example, just like how Rainbow Dash acknowledges and accepts Tank even when he couldn't fly even. The spirit and willingness inside of Tank overcomes his shortcomings regardless of his ability or inability and that didn't stop him from being Rainbow's choice. The same can be applied to Scootaloo too. She doesn't necessarily need to fly to be worthy because she's unique, courageous and her positivity outlooks in everything she does. She's Scootaloo and she's still the same whether or not she flies. It's essentially how her character portrays that in order to correspond and relate to others whom may face similar obstacles just like her. It can work in both ways too if she does eventually fly, as she overcomes her inability and achieved her ultimate goal to fly.

If you remember The Cutie Mark Chronicles (S1 E23), Fluttershy couldn't fly when she was a filly.  She even got picked on for it (Hurricane Fluttershy). She can fly OK now, although she doesn't fly as much as Dash. This shows it's possible for Scootaloo to learn.

 

IMO, the question isn't could she?, it's should she?  I say "Not until the final CMC episode."
