Heyo, forumgoers! I'm coming back to the fandom after a couple years' hiatus, and I've been trying to re-learn to draw ponies. I'm kinda gettin' bored with the mane 6 I've been practicing with sooo... show me an OC pony (ponies specifically for this one, please) of yours and I'll do a 20-minute practice drawing! (Fair warning, it will probably look a little weird and very sketchy!)

Thanks! I used this guy to practice body anatomy; left all the lines as a self-reference. The anatomy's still kinda wonky and 3/4ths view is not my friend right now.

    Well, I know your closed for a while to catch-up, but I'll just slip this in here...uhm, for when your ready. So here goes.

 

   I don't have much in the way of a guide pic to go by, but I like to think that I'm rather proficient in description. I have a short Bio page of my ponysona, Ambie over here. Though for the most part I consider him a sort of cute, pudgey pony. Stance-wise he's average height, I suppose, between mare-height & a bit under Big Mac's workhorse size. Physique is...uhh... well let's put it at Clearly-never-crossed-his-mind-to-ever-intentionally-exercise. But mostly, what I'm curious about is how his mane-style would work. Since parts of it would fall on alternating sides where one ought shade one eye while the front curl shades most of his front while the rest sort of just drapes down sideways off his neck. Three "fins", I guess you could say.

 

   As for pose...hum... Well, what I've been practicing him in I suppose. The same position I've seen my past couple of dogs in, what I call the Bear Rug position. Front legs tucked under the chest & pointed towards the tummy, back legs spread open on the ground, pointed backwards, tail tucked under for modesty. Just...uhm, been mulling it over for years now is all. I don't mean to micromanage! Just, uhm, let me know when you get around to it!
