Did Discord's reformation make him more sane?

To me, Discord seems a bit more sane since his reformation. I don't mean sane as in not evil, i mean sane as in not completely random for the sake of random.

A little bit I guess. They still rely too much on his completely random antics. I want him to be more like he was in the season 6 finale. He was more down to earth and communicated with the characters far more. I liked it so much more than Dungeons and Discord, where his stuff kinda ruined it.

   Now days, he's still doing chaos, but he's curbing himself enough to know that it won't get out of hand and outright kill somepony he cares about or might potentially become a friend. (Or rat on him to get him in deeper trouble. A guy has to plan ahead right?)

   He has something now that he DOESN'T want changed, blinked out of existence or done away with. True chaos would require a complete disconnect from everything else.

It added a layer of emotional reliance, which certainly makes him vulnerable. In some aspects this is appealing, given such is the main trait of life.

 

This means a personal identification which defines the limits of his chaotic nature, on an empathetic level.

 

So it's natural for him to show a certain order, in alignment with his new found interests. Fluttershy.

I suppose Pinkie Pie has less competition now when it comes to outright randomness. Discord is certainly more sane than he used to be. But Dungeons & Discords was a good reminder that he's still got some chaos in him.

Discord still likes to pull the occasional chaotic prank every now and again because it's what he does, but he doesn't do anything that would hurt someone else for his own amusement. He's learned enough about friendship to know when to draw the line regarding that kind of thing.

He's not more sane, just more controllable because he listens to fluttershy's suggestions and enjoys the outcomes: Usually, more friends. Like Q from star trek, he has all the power in the universe, but he's lonely and didn't quite understand that the things he did made people dislike him more. When fluttershy looks past that he notices people accept him more when he tones it down a notch^^

I'm sure he still has the desire to do what he did before, he showed that very well with Tirek, but he sacrificed that because if he didn't then he wouldn't be able to have friends. Discord's reformation was, by definition, him becoming more orderly and less antisocial. This happens to be the exact opposite of what a sociopathic personality would do.

I've often thought Discord (chaos) and the Tree of Harmony (order) were like Yin-Yang.  Discord has been weakened by being blasted several times by the Elements + the TOH has been strengthened by having the Elements returned.

 

So, yes, Discord is more infused with order. (plus, IMO he feels some shame for his behavior in Twilight's Kingdom)
