What Would You Do If You Won The Lottery?

First -- I'd donate to charity, something Christianity-related, etc.

Second, I'd get my house renovated.

And third -- I'd hire Rick Astley (if he was available) to Rickroll me in person on my birthday.

Fix up my house, get all new appliances, new computer. Replace all windows with bullet proof, make my house fireproof and make it almost like a fortress. Fix up my property. Pay off bills, and buy alot of pony stuff, maybe donate.

At this point, I'd probably leave the USA for a good while (preferably for somewhere that has four seasons, no warm/hot climates). But before I did that I would donate to good causes for LGBT rights, disabled people, women's rights, secular/separation of church and state causes, because lord knows the USA desperately needs that right now.

I would make sure that my family were in great financial state, as well.

Also, I'd want a Baroque-style palace, and every (mostly wind, of course) instrument I could ever want! =P My head is in the clouds. A Baroque-style palace would probably be too expensive (and I'd almost certainly be gone by the time it was built), I would probably go for some old Western European-style house at the very least.

Of course this is if I felt like spending the $2 for each time I must have tried (probably at LEAST 10 or 20 times)...

But I digress.

I would get a nice little house somewhere (guess- $60k), then get everything I feel like I'll ever want for now (maybe around $190K?), save up a good 18 3/4 million (or so, probably a good guess counting inflation) if the poop hits the fan, and for living expenses. But, honestly, the rest of it would probably be donated to good causes (*cough cough* NOT Autism Speaks *cough cough*) like LGBT rights (since it WILL go backward VERY soon. We should all know this with the VP pick), or for the disabled, or for cancer treatments. (Of course that would be as long as I knew it wasn't going to really UN-charitable things)... That would be because I really don't need that much money. Somebody else that really needs it for good causes I personally believe in, can have it.

Boring:  donate some, invest some, save some, use a bit. I already own a house, so I'd probably buy another one to live in NYC and one in Texas, and rent this one out. Spread it around to family. Carry hundred dollars bills around to tip excessively. Start a scholarship fund maybe.

I would save up some of the money in the bank, so that in case of an emergency, like if I have to get a surgery, I wouldn't become homeless.

I would also want to donate money to causes and organizations that I believe in such as for LGBT rights, cancer treatments and other medical related causes, and environmental protection groups in order to combat climate change.

There would also be giving money to my family, because I want them to be financially stable as well.

Pay off school loans, then buy my own car(nothing nice, just something that'll last me)

Then I'd probably give the rest of it to my family

I think I'd anonymously pay off fundraisers on gofundme or something and keep the rest just in case I need it.  Maybe go to school, buy a nice sewing machine and travel a little.

I would build me a house in my old farm town, buy that old abandoned furniture store, turn it into an arcade (god knows those people need to learn how to have fun), and work happily as a bagger for the rest of my life.

I would invest it so that in 10 years I would be getting a check every week for the rest of my life .

I would also keep some of it avalible to live on in the mean time. Buy a 3d tv .

From what I have heard it often ruins people's lives more often than it "saves" them or makes their life better. If friends or (sometimes) family finds out, there can be a great deal of envy which inevitability leads downhill. This is not the case in every instance of course, but it does happen quite a bit and overall I think having that amount of money so suddenly brings more trouble that it is worth (literally).

With that in mind, I'd likely put some into savings (if secretly) and donate the rest to a worthwhile charity. I would not go out to buy a brand new car or anything of that nature.

the secret is not to go crazy with the money and remember that it will not last forever

I'd invest a chunk of it, put another chunk away for the future, donate another chunk to charity, pay off my parent's mortgage along with a nice amount to go on vacation or something, and spend a little on myself, maybe get my own place.

I would buy a good place for me and my boyfriend to live, get what we need and then keep the rest just incase. Having that feeling of stability would be so comforting. We could then spend extra money that we have besides that sum to get things we like. Simple and lovely. :)
