So, does any one on here collect retro video games? If so, what consoles do you collect for? Any specific game genres you like to collect for or do you collect them all?

Only decided to start recollecting for my Gamecube. It's nice to finally play Killer 7 and Skies of Arcadia, as well as being able to play Starfox Assault, F-Zero, and Rogue Leader again

Unfortunately some games have gotten way more expensive than they were when I first got them like Melee and especially freaking Path of Radiance

While I don't necessarily collect, I do have games from the Nintendo 64 era that I purchased back in the day. I also have games for both the Game Boy and Game Gear that again, I purchased back in the day though I'm not sure if any of them still work. It has been over twenty years since I purchased those handheld games and their internal memories have probably stopped functioning or melted by now.

I still have my Game BoyAdvance, Game Gear, Genesis, SNES, N64, PSone, PS2 and Game Cube.

I dont currently have an original NES(I did at one point but it got lost in a move) so I bought a clone system that works just as well. Id like to get an original NES but it would have to be a top loader. Im not dealing with busted ass pins and flashing screens again. Nothing worse than playing a difficult NES game almost getting to the end and then nudging the console accidentally and then it freezes(happened multiple times with Mario 3 and Mega Man) :okiedokieloki:

I don't collect retro video game consoles so much as I never sold them. (Except one...the Sega Genesis & Sega CD to fund my N64. RIP Sega Genesis...awful choice)

Guess I got at least two gold mines back at my old home :dash:

Well, no, I don't really collect retro games nor consoles, I just have them because I take care of them, and I have yet to get rid of them. I got way back to the SNES (my old NES could've been there, but alas, died early :( )

I have all Nintendo consoles since SNES, and some of the greatest games, but few cult classics, just don't ask me about all my games because I can't possibly list 'em all

I don't actively collect for consoles, but I do for PC-based platforms. I need to get some old hardware. I'm looking to get an MSX2/MSX2+, a PC-9801, an X68000, a US Apple II, a US Amiga A-series and a few more in that vein. Oh yeah, and a Tandy TRS-80.

You kidding? I got the following:

Genesis Model 2

-Sonic the Hedgehog 1, 2, 3, & Knuckles, Spinball, 3D Blast, Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine
- Desert Strike and Jungle Strike
- Moonwalker
- and more

Gamecube
- Sonic Mega Collection, Gems Collection, Adventure DX, Adventure 2 Battle
- Shadow the Hedgehog
- SSB Melee
- Zelda Collector's Edition, Four Swords Adventures, Wind Waker

NES Top Loader and a plethora of games including

- The Three Stooges
- King's Knight (Noctis' Favorite)
- The Goonies (Famicom, with an adapter to play it with)
- The Goonies II
- Battletoads
- and more.

I have my sights set on owning a PS1 and PocketStation, next. Reason being, Final Fantasy VIII is one of the games I STILL have that I never traded in, and I wanna get the most out of it! Maybe a SEGA Saturn, considering the new controllers Retro-Bit has got out.

Nah, I own every system still in the family, like the Atari and NES, but I have no interest in collecting them or others. It's just really not appealing to me. I'd much rather buy more instruments!
