Would you give Pony Rides?

   Bit of a hypothetical I just had sprint across my mindscape. There's alot of talk of what you would do with ponies, or if you were but...

 

  Say you were a pony in Equestria, always had been always will. You've never had any idea of what a human was outside of some rare fairy tales from long ago. Your out one day for a trot & out from the bushes comes some human spouting stories about how he somehow got transported here against his will, how in his world all you ponies are part of his favorite show & he begs you dearly to do him one big favor. Something he's always wished for. He wants to ride you.

 

   Now, the concept of "riding" carries with it no concept of sexual innuendo in Equestria & as a whole doesn't even come up often outside of some ponies using it as a method to carry their pets or smaller compatriots. You know what the action entails, your just a bit caught off guard by the sudden request.

 

  The question is: Do you, as a natural-born pony, allow this sweaty creature you've never seen before to hop on your back?

I'm quite sure I wouldn't. As an Equestrian, I'd feel very weird about it, especially since the request would be coming from a creature I've never seen before!

Sure -- it is an easy way to get the "human" to the authorities so they can deal with "it" without harm coming to ponies.

   Well, cha'.  But you've been popped out into a dimension where you don't know the rules & likely aren't entirely within grasp of all your faculties due to stress. I mean, ya can't blame a guy fer tryin', eh? 

  Besides, you know that's what they expect most of us bronies to be like.    .....I know I would at least try, hee!

I am assuming I am pretty much "me" in pony form. And as such I know how i would feel anywhere if some random creature ran out at me and started saying a bunch of insane sounding gibberish and then wanted me to carry them around somewhere like a pack mule. I would feel the same way whether i was human, pony, thundercat, care bear or whatever universe i happened to be living in with this mindset. If I was friends with this creature, that is a completely different story... but if they charge out of the bushes and want to see me as a mode of transportation and not as a sentient being who does not feel like being a mode of transportation, then we have a serious clash of ideas. I think rudeness and politeness can be universal. I mean if we ever do achieve real deep space travel, and land on some strange world, and encounter intelligent life forms (intelligence in this example meaning they can speak to you and tell you what is on their mind) that happen to look like horses, ponies, camels or whatever.... that our first interaction with them would not be to ask to ride them around like beasts of burden.

Well if I was my OC definitely yes as he was a human at one point and he had lived with them for years. But I might get bored of people riding on me after a while though.

  Aye, is it rude? Probably. Sudden? Certainly? Am I answering my own questions in a dramatic one-word fashion to bolster the facade of being more intelligent than I may actually be? Obviously.

   Think of it like that Robot Chicken Nerd sketch. This human is in a state of near-hysterics; as far as he's concerned he's in his celebrated show, not in some world that goes by its own rules, he hasn't been here long enough for that to sink in. Otherwise, he probably wouldn't have lept out of the bushes like that, eh? All he knows, is that this "is SOOO Aw-shum!"

 

   Now, you as a pony cannot undoubtedly fathom this from your own viewpoints. You are entirely right in your own stance. It IS rude after all.

Now me? Well, I might have to think it over for a bit, but there would be a high chance I'd say.

Nope. Not because I have any ill-will towards this alien creature from the depths of...the depths, but because (1. I would probably be too weak to carry someone like that and (2. I am basically a social disaster and as such, wouldn't be comfortable with the idea. I would feel bad of course, but it is something that can't be helped.

No way. Why would I do something like that for someone I just met? I might eventually if I'd befriend the person in question, but within five minutes of meeting someone I'd probably tell him where to stick it.
