MLP should go in a new direction!

My little pony should have a new main character: Rainbow Dash, the most awesome pony ever! Twilight Sparkle could still be a main character too, as the primary love interest of our beloved hero! The other ponies would be important friends and sidekicks, as she went on her adventures flying across equestria, and beyond.

 

It could be a more 'cool', adventurous type show! Fast air chases, getting stranded, fighting off bad guys, ect! Vinyl scratch could be involved too. Secretly, she is desperately in love in rainbow dash, and tries to get noticed by playing cool music! Derring do could be like the de facto leader, guiding them to interesting places where help was needed

 

What do you guys think? Isn't it a great idea?

We can't just have whoever you want be the main character. I prefer Fluttershy, and I don't think she should be the main character. I don't think Rainbow Dash should either. They're just not fit to be main characters for the show, imo.

Well, maybe it could be about fluttershy after a couple seasons of rainbow dash. That would appeal to furries!

Nah. We have enough of mane 6 already and making this a show based around a specific set of 6 ponies we have seen for the past 5 years or so is down right boring and quite frankly egotistical. What we need is to see NEW ponies with interesting backgrounds and stuff.

They should put a origins story as to how Equestria is built in full detail. Like chapters upon chapters. Just a thought. Still I have a feeling that we need a new formidable foe or foes.

I would love it but without rainbow dash as a main and those wtf romances 

 

I mean love those adventures and fights. I feel they could make an action spin-off called "My Little Pony: Guardians Of Harmony" focused on action like the toy line. But having equestria girls and being 2017 (too late imo), maybe wont be a success. hope im wrong tho

Honestly, as much as I like Rainbow and she is indeed one of the more well developed characters in FiM (second only to Rarity IMO), what could you really do with her in her own show? Is there development that could be played with? Could the TwiDash partnership warrant extra content as such?

 

Honestly, as much as I like Rainbow, I don't see her holding up a show on her own with all of the development she has already received; unless they give her the full Wonderbolt treatment.

I don't really see why this would work out as an idea. If FIM was to go into a new direction, then it should be a more serialized fantasy cartoon in the veins of something like Steven Universe with Gaurdians of Harmony.

Shes just getting started! she still needs to find out about what her powers are... how to use them... find creative ways to use flying and powers to solve puzzles and fight monsters. Just imagine... She could become even more powerful than twilight sparkle!

Sounds kind of silly to be honest.  I mean, Rainbow Dash have already achieved her goal of becoming a wonderbolt and she's had plenty of character development already so there isn't that much left that can be done with her.

On that note, I seem to have heard a rumor that when Faust was initially envisioning the series dash was supposed to be the central character before it got changed to twilight? (hence the sonic rainboom that gave them all their cutie marks and all that stuff)

First, fix Dashie's character to keep her from becoming too overwhelmingly arrogant. Then come up with a new arc for her, and while you're at it fix the Wonderbolts if they are going to have a role in the series. No more Newbie Dash-esque episodes.

 

Boom! Not a bad idea for a spinoff, if I do say so myself. Maybe after FiM ends, they could do something like this.

Does mlp even have a central character anymore? Isn't everyone a main character and it just alternates depending on the episode. I didn't like that season one was basically just Twilight shoe morning herself in to every problem. Even if she literally had nothing to do with a characters problem. She would always write to Celestia by the end. Then again maybe Dashie would finally get with her all so lots o Flutters. *Cough cough* If they where going to have a new main character I'd rather have it be Flurry Heart. As of right now she serves no purpose. But they could do a time jump and have her be a teenager. Then it could follow her adventures. Maybe how she feels like she has to live up to her parents. As well as her aunt and her aunts friends. Not to mention her interactions with Celestia and Luna, and the fact that she's a princess. She'd also be the first alicorn princess born as an alicorn princess. Which might not mean much. We don't know what Celestia and Luna' s childhood was like. But from Shining Armor, Twilight, and Cadence I think we can gather that Twilight being around loyalty was never a big deal. Especially when Celestia is like a mother to her and the fact that Shining Armor is captain of the royal guard.
