Those are definitely anime. Technically anime's only real definition is that it's Japanese-made animated shows, but the culture is very different from cartoons from other countries and it has a distinctive artstyle that was made popular by anime but is mimicked by other types of cartoons/comics as well.

 

Though technically speaking anime is little more than just another name for a cartoon it is often categorized very differently for various reasons, such as the ones I stated above: Culture, common artstyle and where it's made.

 

As for recommendations if you like Zatch Bell and Bobobo you'll likely get a kick out of FLCL. Give a few preferences and we can help out more.

My favorite series has got to be Record of Lodoss War. Chronicles of the Heroic Knight is also very good, but it's a retelling of Lodoss War. Zero no Tsukaima is another great fantasy anime. Orphen fits into there but to a lesser extent, still a great series though.

I really am up for anything as long as it doesn't go into "XXX" like content but I'm ok with Blood and gore. I really want to watch some good Anime and I will look up FLCL since I remember those Animes very fondly. Like I said I'm looking for something that will get me into more Anime.

I love the original 13 episode Record of Lodoss War a lot. Have you seen Louie The Rune Soldier (Or just Rune Soldier in some cases) which is a spin-off of it? That's the only other Lodoss War series I've seen.

Define XXX because if you mean anything even remotely on the sexual side you'll find it hard to find anime without some unless you delve really deep into it. Anime has this tendency to put somewhat unnecessary fanservice, even in places it's unneeded like Highschool of the Dead which is a zombie apocalypse story. Overall HSotD is an amazing anime with the best English Dub ever and an amazing soundtrack but it has so much fanservice it's crazy.

 

Plus a lot of romantic comedy anime do have some sort of nudity or half-nudity in it but they are often very good anime regardless, depending on where you look that is. I've seen anime that is just basically softcore porn (Green Green, for example) or other ones that just use a lot of innuendos and fanservice (Girls Bravo, Love Hina, Negima)

 

If you wanna go action anime try Darker Than Black or Blassreiter, both of which are nearly devoid of fanservice.

 

I would recommend Ah My Goddess for sure though, it is without a doubt the best romantic comedy I've seen and doesn't have a lot of fanservice in it and what is there is quite modest.

 

Remember never to pass up an anime purely because it's known for fanservice, that will usually get you to miss generally very good anime so don't pass them up entirely if you hear of fanservice before watching it.

 

If you want pure comedy go for something like Azumanga Daioh and Lucky Star, both of which are slice-of-life comedy and usually easily likeable.

It's a crazy anime that uses a lot of metaphorical imagery to represent growing up and going through adolescence. It's a wild ride and every time you watch it you'll understand a bit more. First time I watched it I was like "Okay, what the hell did I just watch?" because I understood NOTHING in that anime. Every time I watch it, I understand a bit more.

I'd say the dub, because it is quite a high-quality one compared to other Anime. It's really a matter of personal preference, however alot of anime fanatics often shoot down people who prefer dub over sub.

 

Also it does contain the occasional bit of 'fanservice' but cmon, it was made by Gainax. There is no full-on nudity though.

Well like I said: Don't entirely pass up anime based on that, sometimes nudity appears in serious anime where it's not even fanservice and just part of the story and atmosphere (whores in a whorehouse being attacked by Samurai, for example)

 

More often than not, even if you find anime with nudity on Youtube it's censored so it's not like you can't find some anime regardless.

 

Still, look up Ah My Goddess, Darker Than Black and Blassreiter, all of which have nearly no fanservice and absolutely no nudity and are great regardless.

 

As for FLCL I will always recommend Dub, but that's because I'm a Dub watcher myself and don't care to watch in Sub. Generally speaking it's purely your own choice. Though FLCL has some pretty fast-paced scenes that might be hard to follow if trying to read subtitles because the subtitles will flash by really quickly. Hearing it isn't much easier though.

Oh and Samurai Champloo. That's an awesome anime with some of the best fight scenes ever and one of the best Dubs as well. Same case as the other three I mentioned: No nudity but tiny bits of fanservice here and there.

I don't know what all is on Netflix (don't have it myself) but look at my last few posts for a few recommendations. I'm fairly certain Girls Bravo and Darker Than Black are on there at the very least.

By what is on YT I will have to Watch the Sub since I'm just too lazy to download a Video editor that does MP4 and then put the episodes together.

I guess I'll just tell ya'll why I wasn't looking for Nudity, I have to share my computer so If my mother some how get's good with computers, and finds something with any Nudity, she will banish me from the computer.

I suppose that is partially a problem though if you wanna watch things on your browser without leaving a history behind you can always use Incognito windows which don't leave a browser history at all. It's kinda sneaky but if you wanna keep someone from looking at your history to find out what you do then it's your best bet.

 

Note that I don't condone minors looking at nudity but neither do I condemn it. Just that I think there's many anime out there worth watching regardless of it's nudity usage.

 

Anyway, I still did list some where there's pretty much no reason your mother would stop you unless she's super stingy.

Anypony like any of the Gundam series? I'm talking about the original Gundam, Gundam Seed, Gundam Seed Destiny, Gundam 00, Gundam Unicorn. Any version of the series, or Neon Genesis Evangelion.

I guess I don't have to worry that much about her finding my Anime since she can barely attach something to an email(had to teach her like 20 times) I just wanted to be more safe than sorry. I use FF and their is a private Browsing feature on it.

I'm going to start downloading the episodes now, Made a Folder in my Video files for it.

For now I'm mostly into the world masterpiece theaters. Don't know what it is? Here's a picture to help you a bit:

 

 

Basically, it's a bunch of novels from all over the world adapted in a complete anime series. There's about thirty of them in total. Most of them are old school but there are still some that been made in 2006, 2009 ect. They're tearjerkers and full of drama. Sometimes characters die an horrible death. I can easily count 7 of them. I'm a sucker for dramas.

That's a toughie. Always was a fan of Ken Akamatsu's work (Love Hina, Negima, A.I. Love You) but I very much am enjoying Girls Bravo which I'm watching right now. Shuffle and Maburaho are amazing.

 

GRAH, I have such a hard time picking favorites, they are all so amazing!

 

Technically Green Green is a harem anime but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone unless they are looking purely for fanservice because that's all the show is. Fanservice and softcore porn. It's even one of the few anime, next to Eiken and Chibi Vampire/Karin, that I actually DON'T particularly care for the Dub. All of the ones I just mentioned are either less than stellar (Karin has a lot of less than average voices but one or two really good ones) to downright terrible (Eiken and Green Green both)

 

In the case of Eiken the anime is a terrible effort and the manga is considerably better though it banks on the fanservice far more than it needs to. It uses every single cliche in the book and has very awkward artstyles thanks to using way too much fanservice but it's still WAY better than the two-part anime that was just...a wasted effort. It doesn't do the manga justice at all.

No, that was the closing song to the greatest anime that ever lived. Yu Yu Hakasho is the beast, and that was my favorite of the four different ending themes.

Azumanga Daioh and Lucky Star

 

Both take place in real-world Japan with real-world problems and no super powers, mythical beasts or robots/aliens. Both highly funny, though Azumanga Daioh is more slapstick and Lucky Star is more situational.

One Piece is funny in my opinion. It's pretty long though so maybe that's not the best choice to start with. There's also Soul Eater that's hilarious and it's way shorter.
