Any Helloween fans out there?

So uhm... I'm absolutely obsessed with the band called "Helloween" at the moment. (Hell, I'm listening to "Keeper of the Seven Keys" right now.)

I was just wondering if anyone here on the forums likes them as well. They used to be frickin' huge back in the 80s, but sadly, it seems as if they've been a little forgotten in recent years.

(For those of you who don't know...)

Helloween is a German power-metal band from the 80s. Their first album was called The Walls of Jericho, but they didn't get that much attention 'til the release of Keeper of the Seven Keys Pt. I. My personal favourite song of theirs is probably "Keeper of the Seven Keys" from the album Keeper of the Seven Keys Pt. II. If you're into metal, especially power-metal, I highly recommend checking them out. While they're still pretty okay today, I think their magnum opus was around 1986-1988 with the two Keeper albums. It took a while for me to adjust to their style, but god damn, am I glad I did! Such a great band.

Yeah I am. I have all their albums (I think). I order the special editions from Napalm Records. I like the Japanese imports too. Keeper Of The Seven Keys is a great song.

Yay, I'm not alone then! I don't actually have a lot of albums, but I've heard most of their popular songs. I have two CDs with collections of songs from a variety of albums, such as Keeper 1 and 2, Master of the Rings, Time of the Oath, and a few others. My older sis also has vinyl records of the two Keeper albums. I also plan to import either Keeper 2, or Walls of Jericho sometime, 'cause dad told me I could have an old record-player.

It's nice to know there are other fans out there. I haven't really met any, other than my sis and her friend.

Yeah, of course there's a difference. Don't get me wrong, I listen to all their songs, not just the popular ones, I just haven't heard ALL the albums yet. I haven't listened to that many of the post-90s albums yet. Pretty sure tge most recent one was "Straight out of Hell", which was pretty good. I liked "Years" and "Nabataea" quite a bit, but it still didn't beat the good ol' albums like "Time of the Oath" for example.

Oh, and my sister's records are original. Which is coooool. :)

Actually listening to 'em right now. It's 'March of Time', particularly. :>

The Deris era is not too shabby either. Can't really compare them to the 'classic' era. Yeah, it doesn't have the same groundbreaking 'feel' as the first three, but, well, a lot of good songs. c:

And oh, you should check out Gamma Ray and Unisonic. The former being Kai Hansen's band after leaving Helloween, and the latter being a band with Michael Kiske AND Kai Hansen. Good stuff. I'd suggest 'Land of the Free' from the former, and 'Light of Dawn' for the latter. c:

Oh hell yes, you can't beat a bit of German power metal :D I've gotten a few of their albums, Gambling with the Devil being my favourite probably. It's great playing games jamming out to the likes of "The Bells of the Seven Hells" or "Heaven Tells no Lies"

Hehe, first of all; It's funny how you mention both Eagle Fly Free and March of Time, 'cause I was listening to those two all day yesterday. The other funny thing is that I found a Gamma Ray CD when I was at a record-store the other day. I wanted to buy it, but I didn't have a lot of money, so I just bought two Helloween CDs and some Avantasia CD.

Haven't heard of Unisonic though. Guess I've got some stuff to listen to. :)

I've listened to them here and there. Ordered a few of their albums from nuclear blast and collected a few more from Half Price books.

  • Keeper Of the 7 Keys part 2.
  • Time Of The Oath
  • The Dark Ride
  • Rabbit Don't Come Easy
  • My God Given Right

And I have to say their latest one is pretty damn good. I was hoping to see them live but the haven't come near me yet.

My mother listened to Halloween and she still has some original Vinyls.

I listened to it as a kid to, i dont remember any particular songs but i liked pretty much all the metal songs, that my Mother played in the car.

So, the Band Halloween was in there and im pretty sure, i liked there Songs as well.

Maybe i will start listening to them again, because Power Metal is my favorite Metal Style besides Melodic.

  • 2 weeks later...

Only liked one song from their songs, Keeper of the Seven Keys (Full), that was always a childhood favorite... My father was a big Helloween fan though... Speakin of which we were planing on making an RPG based off of that song, but it never happened... If things go well I might try to resurrect the project my dad started as a kid.

Yeah, The Seer Of Visions would send them on a quest.

I am not a huge Helloween fan, but I have a few albums of them and I like to listen to them from time to time. My favorite songs are "Perfect Gentleman" and "I Want out".
