like an episode made of diferent shorts of non-talking animals. would love to see an ursa (the galaxy bear) short to see its daily live.

An episode of My Little Pony without a pony, excluding the ponies from the title sequence of course, is slightly ironic.

 

It could be done, if they wanted to draw focus to other species, like Gilda's, Thorax life as the only good king in Equestria. Or even Spike traveling to visit his only dragon friend.

 

There are possibilities for this idea. I'd certainly enjoy it, but only if they did it right. And without trying to sneak the mane cast in some sneaky way, like with the Dragon Quest episode, or Gauntlet of Fire.

Well some of the spike episodes were fairly Pony free but I don't see how we could get something that is completely Pony free.  They would even have to make a new title scene or just cut it out.

I don't think its THAT big of a deal. If you look at Gauntlet of Fire, that's what it almost essentially was. Rarity and Twilight were reduced to supporting even background characters such that if you edited them out the plot would still progress as usual. 

 

Its not that hard to imagine an episode involving Spike, Thorax, Discord going off on an adventure and having minimal to no pony appearances. The lands around and within Equestria are vast and ponies are just one part of that. People also kinda freaked and were skeptical of the Season 6 finale To Where and Back Again when it had minimal involvement of the Mane 6, but it turned out to work really well also.

I'm not sure it would work. Spike and Discord (who it would most likely be about) are good characters, but the show is My Little Pony. 

I'd like to see an episode that covers Discord's family though. I'd like to know where he came from, and that could be covered in an episode with minimal Pony, but Twilight or another of the Mane 6 (Fluttershy?) would definitely be in it too.

It could be fun like maybe Spike going to visit the changelings for one episode. But I can't see there being absolutely no ponies in the beginning or the end pr something. But I would not mind.

This is actually a brilliant idea! Though technically. we kinda already saw that with

Gauntlet of Fire, But yes! We should have another episode with different species.

Donkeys, dragons, Zebras, Griffons, buffalo, the list goes on!

This could actually be an interesting one-off idea if they did it right. Not entirely sure who it would be about but my first guess would be Spike. Maybe he gets a letter from Ember again and through the course of one night has to help her while the ponies are asleep. Would be a chance to see Ember again too and see more good Spike. Not a bad idea I don't think.
