Comet Dancer happily accepted his drink with a small utter of thanks, bringing his beverage to his mouth and taking a sip. He smiled softly, enjoying the flavor. As he took another sip of his drink, he began to notice that other ponies were beginning to join him at the bar, which was a welcomed change.

One such patron, a lilac unicorn, ordered her own preferred drink then seemed to turn her attention towards him  "Greetings. Mr. Dancer, was it? My names Satin." She said, holding a hoof out towards the silver stallion.

"Oh! yes, it was." He replied in confirmation; and, not forgetting his manners, he humbly accepted the mare's hoof in his own and gave a firm, yet gentle shake. "A pleasure to meet you Ms. Satin." He added. "And what, might I ask, brings you here to this fine establishment this evening?"

"Hard, please," Satin quickly replied to the bartender. She placed her old glass on the bar.

Satin returned her attention to the stallion next to her. "Oh, nothing much. Just relaxing and grabbing a drink or two after getting into town earlier. Cozy place like this help you not feel as lost in such a sprawling city as Manehatten. What about yourself?"

Satin was distracted by the reporter pony she'd seen earlier, sans hat. "Hello, Mr. Reporter. How are you today?" she said, trying to stay civil, but failing, venom dripping slightly fro her words. "Any juicy scoops or gossip you got over there?"

'Oh, I shouldn't judge him just by his look. Not all reporters are like those filthy paparazzi, but... ugh.'

@@Lil' Lovebug,

The stallion replied. "Please, call me Alexi" he replied. "I'm actually just a columnist, not those gastly gossip reporters" he added, adamant that wasn't the paparazzi. "Though, I haven't got anything yet, I'm hoping some coffee will do that". However, sensing slight bitterness, he calls it a day and decides to leave and work on the next day's issue. He still made plans to come back the next day, as the ponies he encountered were very interesting, plus those hay fries were outstanding!

Grizz grabbed the glass from the counter and set it in front of him, setting his eyes on a rather stout and brown bottle before grasping the cork, unleashing a chocolaty aroma. He filled the glass a quarter full before filling the rest with coffee, handing the glass back to the mare, "Here you go miss, and with that I think I'll close the bar for the night. Feel free to finish your drinks and grab a room for the night, or go about your way if it suits your fancy." He locked the register with a key before leaving the counter, taking a small drink with him to a table against the wall. He rests his legs on the chair across from him, slowly enjoying his drink.

Lightning made his way to his house within a few minutes, unlocking the door to make his way inside. He set his keys on a small dresser against the wall and shrugged his packs and guitar case off his back, resting them against the dresser. "Well that certainly was an interesting night, maybe I'll find that weird mare tomorrow. . ." His voice trailed off as he made his way over to his bed, nosing a blanket over himself lazily before jumping on it, making himself comfortable. As sleep overtook him, his thoughts drifted towards the events of the night...

Comet let out a small chuckle at the mare's personal opinion of the city. "Yes, I suppose the layout of this city can be rather daunting." He said with a nod, taking another sip of his mamosa. "As for me, I'm on a bit of a vacation... You see, I used to live here in Manehatten when I was just a colt; and I grew up on all the classical arts!" The silver stallion threw a hoof out in dramatic gesture, emphasizing his passion for the subject.

There was a small pause in the conversation, as the barkeep handed Satin her drink and announced that he would be closing up the bar for the remainder of the night. He gave the tan stallion a nod of acknowledgement and a thanks for his hospitality before turning his attention back to the mare. "Needless to say, I missed them dearly, as well as some of the family I have that still live in the area." He added, placing his hoof back down on the countertop as he spoke. "I'm only planning to stay here for a few more days before I head back home to Ponyville."

"Sorry!" yelled to the reporter as he left. She grabbed her new drink in her magic and took a sip, thanking the bartender and placing a few bits on the counter. She sighed, a slightly crestfallen look falling upon her face, as he mentioned closing the bar soon.

Satin turned back to the stallion next to her. "Oh. I too am on vacation. I'm here to see a musician that I enjoy who's supposed to play in a couple days. After that, I'll probably stay for a while to sight-see and the such, then back home for me." Satin lied. Well, it wasn't all a lie. She was just the musician she was talking about. Satin put a hoof to her chest. "I hail from Canterlot. And while it is quite a large city, it pales in comparison to this confusing place."

Satin took a few more sips of her drink, letting the taste roll over her tongue. "Not all good things can last I guess. We should probably finish up before he decides to kick us out. I'm sure you probably have places to be, and I need to find a place to stay for the next week or so."

Satin appeared disheartened about the tan stallion's announcement for the night's closing, as she managed to buy another drink before the barkeep moved elsewhere. She then turned back to the silver earth pony as she spoke again. "Oh. I too am on vacation. I'm here to see a musician that I enjoy who's supposed to play in a couple days. After that, I'll probably stay for a while to sight-see and the such, then back home for me."

"Really?" Comet responded, intrigued. "Well there certainly are a lot of musicians and performances that love traveling around to share their work. I do hope you find some enjoyment with their performance then." He said with a curt nod.

Satin made acknowledgement to his statement as she put a hoof to her chest to continue through their conversation. "I hail from Canterlot. And while it is quite a large city, it pales in comparison to this confusing place."

"Canterlot you say? Well, that certainly is high class." The stallion noted. "Unfortunately I've never had the chance to go there myself, so I can't say that I can make the comparison for myself. But I'll take your word for it. My schedule makes traveling so hard to mange... Although my friend Alex, on the other hoof, seems to have all the free time in the world for that sort of life." He said with a soft sigh, his mind wandering for a split moment. It was fairly clear from his tone of voice that he had strong feelings for this certain someone. "She has a natural knack for gem finding you see, and plenty of time in the day to do so. Admittedly, I'm a bit jealous..."

Admittedly, the silver stallion could probably talk about his friend for hours if left to do so, but he seemed to notice his sudden shift in the topic as he quickly shook his head and cleared his throat, muttering a soft apology and took another drink from his mamosa.

There was another brief pause in their conversation as Satin also took a few more sips of her beverage, allowing herself to savor its contents. "Not all good things can last I guess. We should probably finish up before he decides to kick us out. I'm sure you probably have places to be, and I need to find a place to stay for the next week or so."

"I suppose not." Comet agreed, finishing up the last of his drink. However, after she mentioned their parting of ways, he straightened to attention, seeming almost horrified at the thought. "Oh goodness no, Ms. Satin! It would be horribly irresponsible of me to leave a lovely lady, such as yourself, unsupervised in a city like this so late at night." He stated.

"Honesty, I was planning on making my way back to my hotel after this. Please, allow me to escort you there and rent you a room for the night." The silver mare offered, placing a hoof against his chest, hoping that she would oblige.

Satin blushed a little. "Oh, why thank you, but I can buy my own room. I wouldn't mind being escorted to the hotel, though. I'm afraid I'll get lost." She giggled. She quickly finished her drink and wiped her muzzle with a napkin. "Oh my! Excuse me, I'll be right back," she said, hurriedly walking back to where she'd been sitting before. After a moment she returned to the bar, a large bag in tow. "My, I got so distracted up here, I almost for got about this. Thankfully, it was untouched."

Satin finished her drink. "I'm all ready, Mr. Dancer." She waved her hoof towards the door. "Lead on."

'I'll have to ditch him when we get there. The room should already be reserved under my name, but they'll be expecting a changeling, not a pony. Can't just change in the middle of the hotel.'

"As you wish, my dear." He replied with a soft smile and a nod. The stallion then waited patiently as the mare hurried off to a corner of the bar to retrieve her things. "A good thing, indeed." Comet agreed as he climbed down from his seat.

Once Satin finished her drink and gestured him to lead the way, he nodded, turning back towards the tan stallion once more. "Thank you again for your hospitality," he told the barkeep. "And please, give my thanks to Mr. Roller for the drink." He added. And with that, Comet began making his way out of the bar.

Comet made sure to hold the door open for the unicorn, however, it was at that point that he realized there was a light drizzle going on outside. "Oh dear... Had I known the weather schedule, I wouldn't have left my umbrella in my room... You don't by chance have one in your bag that you could use, do you...?" He asked.

"U-umm. Let... let me check," she replied, quickly burying her head in her bag to hid her blushing, scheming face. 'Ohhh, this could be better than I thought. I might get a bit more than a snack. "My dear?" How do I even take that? Was it courtesy, or maybe more..... Gah!' She composed herself and continued her search.

"Aha!" Satin looked up, a triumphant grin on her face. An umbrella floated up from her bag. She set it down next to her and closed her bag. Walking through the door, she thanked the stallion and opened the umbrella. It was relatively small, and Satin wondered if the both of them would fit under without getting wet. Shrugging, she motioned for Comet to join her. "Well, Mr. Dancer, lead the way."

Grizz gave the pair a smile and nodded towards them, easing himself out of the chair to lock the door behind them. "You two have a nice night, and good luck with the weather." He directs his attention to the silver stallion, "And I'll be sure to pass on your thanks to Lightning Mr. Dancer, that is if you two don't bump into each other before I see him." He laughs lightly aloud as the pair of ponies make their way outside. Grizz locks the door behind them and makes his way up into the loft of the tavern, settling himself down for the night.

Comet smiled softly in amusement and nodded towards the stallion before the tavern was locked up behind them, returning his attention towards the unicorn as she managed to find a fairly small umbrella from her bag.

Satin gestured from him to join her under the umbrella, but the stallion lifted up a hoof and shook his head. "Thank you kindly, but I'll be fine." He replied, putting his hoof back down and proceeding to lead the mare to the hotel. He honestly didn't care much about the rain. And —had the situation been reversed, with him possessing the umbrella— he would have given it to her to use for herself regardless.

Satin scooted up next to the stallion, positioning the umbrella between them. "Please, Mr. Dancer. I'd feel terrible if you were to get sick. And your dashing appearance is already being tampered with by the rain. I can leave my bag to get a little wet. There's nothing too important in there."

Her bag floated just outside the umbrella. Satin had thought about bringing saddlebags, but she foresaw too many problems with them if she needed to take on a different form like she had now.

"So, tell me about yourself. What's it like in the life of Mr. Dancer?"

(OOC)- Seeing as only one other person actually follows the OOC thread, I'll need to post it here as well. If you guys are still interested in playing I would like to know, I hate seeing an RP just go dead with no warning.

I'm still interested, just I noticed only Alex and lil posting, so I didn't know really when to get back in, since my character left the café. What happened to the others in the planning thread? (I need to bring the post to a higher level of characters, hence why I'm writing this pointless extra sentence)

@Lil' Lovebug,

The silver stallion turned to look behind him upon hearing his company's footsteps growing closer to him and was faintly surprised as the mare used her magic to move her umbrella above the two of them. "Very well then, Miss Satin, if you insist." Comet replied with a polite nod. Given that it was by her choice, he wasn't going to argue with her.

As they continued on their way, Satin went on to resume their casual conversation. "So, tell me about yourself. What's it like in the life of Mr. Dancer?" She asked.

"Me? Oh well, it's nothing all too extravagant really." He replied with a soft chuckle. "Ponyville is a fairly small town after all... My occupation is a professional dancer, so everyday I'm usually at my studio rehearsing for any upcoming dance performances or plays that are scheduled at the time... After practice I usually pay visits to my friends and family, so long as they're not busy of course. And occasionally, I head to the local arcade, where my friend Alex and I play together. I'm not much of a gamer myself, but she is absolutely entranced by it! That was where we first met, actually."

"Dancing? Hmm, quite interesting. I've never actually met a dancer before. I've seen a performance or two, but I always feel uncomfortable watching them. It's quite strange to see ponies lift off their front legs for an extended period of time. I prefer to keep all four hooves to the ground if I can, unless I'm flying." Satin said, missing her slip-up.

She looked up to ponder for a moment. "Ah, I assume you do most, if not all, of your dance performances locally, which is why you don't travel often? Speaking of, this Alex you keep mentioning seems very close to you."

Comet gave her a sideways glance as he noted the unicorn's mistake. However, he covered it well behind a polite smile and nod of interest as he responded. "Oh well, not all dancing involves standing on our hind legs, dear." He explained with slight amusement. "It requires balance, strength, and flexibility on any and all of our hooves in the theatrical arts. It simply depends on the form of dance you wish to go see."

She looked up to ponder for a moment. "Ah, I assume you do most, if not all, of your dance performances locally, which is why you don't travel often? Speaking of, this Alex you keep mentioning seems very close to you."

"That is correct." The stallion replied, nodding again. "I spent most of my life growing up in Ponyville, and that's where I feel most at home when I perform." He seemed fairly relaxed in their conversation as the rain continued to softly clatter against the umbrella. Though his expression did change slightly upon hearing the mare's observation, a small blush swept over Comet's white cheeks, clearly flustered about the topic. "Ah ha, yes." He said with a small chuckle. "We've known each other for almost three years now. She's quite the energetic canine, if I do say so myself."

"My mistake," Satin said, bowing slightly. "I've always seen performers go onto their hind legs, so I wrongly assumed. Forgive me."

As she watched the slight blush spread across the stallion's face, she flicked her tongue out the opposite side of her mouth as Comet, tasting the admiration. "A canine? Oh! One of those diamond dogs I've heard of before? That's quite interesting. I didn't know there were some who'd started interacting with ponies on friendly terms." A sly smirk spread across her face. "Does the difference in species complicate things between you two?" she asked in jest.

@The Power of Love Compels You,

"That's quite alright, Miss Satin." Cosmic replied, not seeming offended in the slightest. "It's a simple mistake."

As the conversation continued, Comet failed to notice the unicorn savor the taste of the love he was omitting from the topic of his crush. Not that he was trying to pay attention to such detail anyway, focusing on the pathway to the hotel while they conversed.

"Ah, so you've heard of her species then." He noted. "Good. That makes explaining things much easier. Yes, she is indeed a Diamond Dog." Comet replied with a nod. "And you would be correct, they don't normally live around Pony-inhabited areas. Usually they stay with their kin, hunting for gems in caves. Alex was different however, and was curious about the rest of Equestria. That, in turn, led to our first encounter at the Arcade."

Upon her further questioning, the silver stallion's blush grew brighter, fumbling over his words for a moment before he managed to make a coherent response. "I-I... No... Of... O-Of course not! We're just friends."

Satin let out a laugh, stopping in her tracks. "Hahaha. Oh, I'm sorry. I'm only joking." She composed herself and put herself next to the stallion again, a smile still gracing her lips. "I'm sorry, I could not resist the temptation. I shouldn't have made such a joke to someone I've just met, but it was well worth the response." She said, nudging Comet.

As they continued on, Satin hummed softly to herself. She skipped along every once in a while, usually resulting in her losing her balance, giggling any time she had to lean against Comet to catch herself. She wan't drunk, tipsy at most, but the pleasant feeling from the alcohol and bit of love she'd passively absorbed had her feeling giddy. "Oh, I feel like I should probably get that room soon. I think the bartender made that coffee drink a little too hard."
