10.) Subnautica

Even though this game was released just a couple weeks ago, it instantly became my all-time favorite survival game. It has a cool story, too.

9.) Tales of Berseria

Sometimes I find it really pitiful that this series goes unnoticed by the majority of the JRPG fanbase. This game has the single greatest story and characters in the history of RPGs. The super dynamic battle system is also one of its token features.

8.) Skyrim

Picked this bad boy up in middle school and I've had an odd relationship with it ever since. On the PS3, I sank in over 200 hours into the game playing as a stereotypical Sword & Shield Nord dude and proceeded to finish all of the factions and DLCs with the Spellbreaker shield. Nowadays I never play this game without mods. Bethesda really needs to start working on ES6... or maybe even a Game of Thrones open world rpg.

7.) The Witcher III

Only played this for a few hours but I'm already hooked. I love how each monster requires their own strategy to defeat them, forcing you to plan ahead for every fight you come across. I'm also a sucker for Dark Fantasy.

6.) Bloodborne

From Software really knows how to make engaging combat and lore, and this game is in the threshold of perfection. It's really fast-paced, challenging, and interesting when you start digging into the Lovecraftian-style backstory.

5.) Scooby-Doo: Night of 100 Frights

An old PS2 classic that I doubt many people remember. I wish there were more companies like Heavy Iron Studios that developed engaging collect-a-thon games.

4.) Dark Souls III

Has the same qualities as Bloodborne, but what makes this higher is the fact that I don't have to go to my PS4 every time I want to play this game.

3.) Assassin's Creed: Origins

Greatest open world game I've ever played thus far. Gameplay is awesome, story is intriguing, and Ancient Egypt is probably my favorite history subject out of all of them. I just wish that the leveling system wasn't so poorly developed.

2.) Tales of the Abyss

Again, shame on those who turn a blind eye to this JRPG series. This game was my introduction to the Tales of franchise, and so my nostalgia has placed this game on the near top of my list for quite a few years now.

1.) Spongebob Squarepants: Battle for Bikini Bottom

The ultimate PS2 classic. Nothing can beat this brilliant collect-a-thon filled with brilliant level design and brilliant gameplay. I always come back to this every year or two just to relive this nostalgic game.
