Now that we have cat characters, will we see CATS references in FiM?

The MLP movie takes place outside of Equestria, so new, non equine creatures, like Capper the cat, is justified. But can FiM get away with throwing a cat character into FiM's cartoon series, while offering CATS references?

With Trixie being a reoccurring character, and a travelling show pony, I hope that we get to come across a Cat Sidhe or Bakeneko magician named Meowphisto, and the two get into fancy magic shenanigans. (Or better yet, we learn that Trixie's mentor was this cat magician Meowphisto)

What do you guys think about cat characters in the show, to provide CATS references?

Ok. I don't care if it fits or not, but my inner Broadway fan will start screaming with joy if they have a Jellicle Cat pun in the show.

oh God, yes! But one reference won't be nearly enough. Fluttershy got a whole episode with bats and batty references. I want a whole episode with cats and Catty references. Hell, the whole episode itself could be a CATS musical spoof!

So long as it doesn't cause any kind of copyright problems--Hasbro would prefer not to be bogged down by controversy--I can actually see it happen though it would also be really weird given how we haven't seen humanoid cats in this generation of MLP until now.

You think Capper will appear in season 7/8? :o

I was under the impression that the movie characters wouldn't really be shown outside of the movie; would be awesome if they "lived" in the world of FiM afterwards =^-^=

Not Capper, but he can't be the only of his species.

We've already had one. The title for the season 4 episode Bats was chosen as a reference to the musical Cats. It was even originally pitched as a musical episode, though they probably changed that once they got Weird Al on board for a different episode and made Bats a regular episode.

Hopefully its nothing like what happened to those Love Cats in the comic with Chrysalis:

Aside from the ponies themselves, other equines and most ungulates in the world of Equestria and beyond exist solely as sapient intelligent creatures with their own cultures. Others on the other hand thus far, like squirrels, birds, pigs and fish, are simply sentient like in our world, with some cartoonish personalities at times and exceptions ie: Angel Bunny and Harry the bear.

Then you have THIS category. The weird in between. There's regular old dogs like Winona and then there's Diamond Dogs. There's civilized dragons with a society, like Spike and Ember, and then as we saw in Gauntlet of Fire something called slingtails, perhaps a lesser lizard or dragon.

Also compare these guys:

to Steven Magnet.

It makes you what the god(s) of Equestria, or the writers better yet, were thinking when they decided to world build. Really there's a lot of diversity and potential for much more.
